My wife and I are repeat guests in this lovely hotel which is ideally located. From the outside, it is just one of many hotels, but the inside is the real treasure.
In the last few years, we realize continued maintenance and the rooms and public areas are well maintained. What we appreciate the most is that the staff remembers you even after a year, and they are constant, not like in many other hotels with a high fluctuation.
The restaurant/bar is run by the same two guys who are knowledgable and helpful and with a good sense of humor. the breakfast is very rich and offers all you want for a good breakfast, the selection changes daily. The staff is very attentif, regardless of the time of the morning. They always have a smile in their face, are looking for special requests and keep all the tables maculately clean and presentable. And there is a person who is almost not visible, but always present, with a close eye on details. The lady manager on duty is just omni present, competent, friendly and with a good link with all the employees. The perfect environment to feel great and taken well care of.

Remembering this hotel from former visits to Prague, I have decided to take there my wife for a weekend break. Can't really complain, however expected something else...
Starting with positives - excellent location. Practically in the heart of the City, very close to metro station, conveniently and easily reachable from the airport within less than hour at low cost. Comfortable beds. Reliable wi-fi.
On the opposite - housekeeping needs improvement. Lack of soap in one of the bathroom dispensers was disappointing but standing water and not going down the drain in BOTH, sink and shower, was much to much. Everything was fixed once reported however you never have a second chance to make first impression. The same with tea and coffee preparing set, complimentary when you book a room on hotel website - we had to ask for it at reception as did not find any in our room. Breakfast - I used to like this hotel much for it, as breakfasts usually belong to weaknesses of CZ hotels and it was nice exception, but... Again, expected something else. More than micro bowl with fresh vegetables for sure. And where is their famous becon? There is still some available but not the same as few years ago.
All in all - it used to be very good choice for staying in City Center, now it is "only" good, for me at least.

Well what a great city, we stayed at the Perla hotel in Prague ,it is in a great location and you can walk to the main square in 4 minutes which has the famous clock .The clock tower is being renovated but the clock is not. You can walk the whole city and see 80% of it in a Friday to Monday visit. We checked reviews for hotels and went with the Perla hotel, and had no regrets, the rooms were clean and of fair size ,no coffee or tea making in room, no kettle, this was the only slight negative ,we were on 1st floor ,we had read reviews of noise from stag and hen nights ,this was very minimal, but there was a bit when they walked past ,there was no nightclub within earshot, the buffet breakfast was basic but was fine, very pleasant staff and very helpful, we arrived at 9:30 am and our room was ready ,how's that for service, we booked the airport transfer with the hotel , fixed price 29 euros or 680 krona, great deal and taxi driver was waiting for us on arrival and we booked him for return, nice driver would recommend this .You can get drinks at bar in hotel all day if you want. This was a hotel I would defiantly use again .If you visit the castle it has 206 steps to get up to it ,so be warned, it really is a church in the middle of 4 long buildings ,it was a bit disappointing but a visit you can't miss, it looks great from a distance. We ate at the church square (I'm sure it's got a name but I can't think what it was) a lot ,prices very good, quite cheap for a city.We went on the tourist train from square ,very bumpy as streets are 75% cobblestones but was an interesting ride ,it goes to castle and back ,could be worth doing instead of 206 steps, nearly killed me just looking at what I had to climb, but made it ,the weather we had was 29c all three days in early July 17. The river is beautiful and Charles bridge is a must visit .We went from Southend in Essex 1hr 45 min approx, going , 1 hr 25 mins back. I would recommend Prague as a great inexpensive and very interesting city to visit.

Room Tip: Remember this is in the centre of the city ,so a bit of noise has to be expected

My wife and I stayed at Perla Hotel from 14th - 19th June throughout our recently-concluded trip at Prague. We had a bad start (no fault of the hotel though) when our taxi driver pointed at the wrong direction where the hotel was supposedly 'situated' and I had to resort to ask for directions from some locals, all but one whom feinted ignorance and dismissed me in a highly condescending and arrogant manner (talk about encountering racism within the first 15 minutes in Prague!).

When we checked in, we were offered a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine by the hotel, which was really a great gesture considering that we had informed them that we would be celebrating our marriage anniversary in Prague prior to our stay.

The room that we were assigned to was 401. After crossing over to Prague from Vienna, we had naturally high expectations of the room. Space-wise, our room was superb. There was plenty of space for our personal items and for walking around without feeling claustrophobic. The only issue that we had was the bathroom, which is a common complaint amongst previous travelers who engaged the same hotel during their stay in Prague. The shower jet was mediocre at best and the water pressure was inadequate for a comfortable shower. We also found that the shower screen was not sufficiently big to prevent water from wetting the toilet floor, which is a great shame for the hotel.

On a more positive side-note, Perla Hotel is wonderfully situated and a 5-minute brisk walk was enough to land us at the Old Town Square. I believe that this is the biggest advantage of residing at this hotel. Moreover, I was happy with the breakfast that the hotel offered to guests. Sure, the range might not be fantastic. However, the hotel more than made up for it with its offer of tasty cold-cuts and drinks. I liked how the hotel made the effort to change the food items on an everyday basis so that the customer experience would not be mundane.

All in all, I believe that once the hotel fixes it bathroom issues, it will receive even more positive reviews and more importantly, POSITIVE EXPERIENCES enjoyed by future hotel guests.

Room Tip: Go for room 401. It is bigger than the other rooms.

We booked a short stay here on the recommendation of a family member. First the good points are the location only 10 minutes walk from most central attractions. Secondly a nice breakfast with especially fresh breads and superb bacon in a pleasant breakfast lounge on the first floor.Bedrooms are quite small with 2 small single beds but they do have bath and shower and the aircon worked well. The main bad points are the poor soundproofing. Even from the 4th floor bedroom every night at about 3am we were woken up by club revellers from a nearby club. Secondly a lack of lounge or lobby space would be beneficial . The check in area does have a few hard seats but it is a narrow space where guests are checking in and checking out. Lastly the reception staff need to take lessons in basic hospitality, A polite good morning or good night with a smile would help. I've never seen such a miserable bunch of staff for a long time but to their credit they did their jobs well and we had a pleasant stay.
