Have just returned from a 2 night birthday weekend and stayed here in a deluxe room. The location of this hotel is perfect, right next to Charles bridge. The staff were very welcoming and professional, very helpful and we even had a small bottle of wine in our room on arrival for my boyfriends birthday. Very luxurious hotel, lovely location, a treat to stay in. Great service , Thanks very much for a lovely stay.

After an 18-hour journey from the USA we did not want to hear that our hotel was overbooked. But Tomáš made the transition seamless by accommodating us at an upgraded room at their sister Riverside hotel and providing taxi service to and from. We checked in at Pachtuv Palace a day later and were upgraded to an EXQUISITE suite. Every staff member at this hotel has a vanguard of Customer Service. I recommend this hotel as a beautiful accommodation with spectacular service. It is also a superb location with a tram stop in front of the hotel as well as walking distance to attractions on both sides of the river!

Room tip: Suite 404 provides a beautiful view of the Charles Bridge and palace beyond.

Finding that our view from our bedroom window was THE picture you see anytime there's a photo of Prague was going to be a good start anyway but the rest of the hotel pretty much matched our expectations. Wendy on reception was like having our own personal tour guide booking restaurant tables and concert tickets for us. Nothing was too much trouble. And her advice was spot on. I didn't see any hotel in the city better placed for exploring the old city. We booked the hotel Mercedes to collect us from the airport. At 800 kroner (about £32) it's only slightly dearer than a taxi (about 650/700 kroner) but so convenient and a classy way to start your holiday - we would recommend it. Having tea and coffee making facilities in the room was a first for me in a European hotel and much appreciated. The room was large, well equipped and I'm sure in the summer the air conditioning would be a real plus.

We stayed here for 5 days in September.we had a deluxe suite which was huge.we did not like the room given to us,so we requested for a different room which they gave us without any fuss. The views are great when u go up to the window.very close to the old town.belluve the restraunt next door is great.A bottle of water in the room would have been nice.maid service twice a day was appreciated.lovely comfortable bed.bathrooms are small and the little blue tiles are dirty.Loccitane products are nice.would definitely stay again. The breakfast could have been better.

Room tip: Ask for a room facing the castle.

I booked last November for a total surprise for my wife this September - her birthday and our 29th wedding anniversary. The dates were tweaked in March and the agents getabed.co.uk issued new hotel vouchers via my travel agent, Deva Travel in Chester. Everything looked in order. We arrived Thursday evening looking forward to a relax in the wonderful looking Deluxe Double only to be told they had no reservation!!! They had a room in their sister hotel, the Riverside, (a far way down river and a much longer walk to the attractions!!) and we were transferred there. Their last room was no more than a box with a bed - no shelves or draws so unpacking was a no go. Off out at the wrong end of town to find something going on and something to eat - not good. In the morning, after a very poor attempt at a hot breakfast, they acknowledged their mistake but no chance of back to the Pachtuv Palace that day so we were moved to a 'suite' on the top floor which was in fact a lovely room with the promise of a move to the Palace on the Sunday for our last night [This I had confirme via the UK during Friday]. Lovely staff but hotel in the wrong place for what I had planned. On the Sunday morning they say sorry no transfer and you stay put for the rest of your stay. Not happy, I 'insist' on a transfer which is then organised and on arrival we are promised a really nice suite which they are sure we will like. After a day's wandering we return to check into our room and indeed it is a suite - a very large and sparsely furnished 'cold' lounge area and then at the end of a corridor a tiny loo. Off a very small double room is a very small bathroom - shower behind door! Again, nothing like one was expecting from the web build up. The staff were lovely again and the location was exactly what I had intended - very central and lovely views (if you had them) across the river etc. We didn't risk the breakfast here but the bar was closed at 10.20 and we had a very bemused look from the staff member closing down that a guest might appreciate a nightcap!!
We will certainly go back to Prague but I'm not so sure about Mamaison though!

Room tip: It's a boutique hotel so I understand that's a lottery. Therefore very disappointing to not get what the website suggests you will
