“Small, good price, great breakfast”
Reviewed 17 October 2011

I found this hotel very affordable, had a great breakfast buffet, and the rooms were simple but functioned for the traveler that sleeps, eats breakfast and goes out to see the town. It is 2 blocks from the metro system, get your ticket for the day or week at the front desk. If you are a walker, the Charles Bridge is just a 20 min walk. The Metro runs right up to 1/2 block from the bridge. If you book your tours ahead, they pick you up at the hotel and take you to a main point to board your tour. TV only gets one English channel, Europe CNN, Looks and feels like 1060s Russia, they were there till USSR broke up, but safe, comfortable and you start your day off with a good breakfast.

Although a short walk or tram ride to the historic center, the location is really perfect, quiet, and "real" compared to the "fake" part of the old city. Easy tram rides to Castle, to center, and walking distance to the Gehry building. The staff was helpful even if their English was not always perfect. The breakfast was fine, if simple. There were a bunch of Elderhostel guests from USA, so don't imagine you are escaping ALL the tourists. I'd stay here again and recommend it to others!

Room Tip: We had room on street but double-glazed windows and quiet area meant no night noise.

Hotel Petr was a good place to stay for us. The rooms were comfortable and well-equipped-even a refigerator. The hotel is clean and the staff helpful. We liked being a little away from the mayhem but still close enough to walk to most sites. Tram stops for the main lines were two-three blocks only. We could walk to the National Theatre in 15 minutes.

We had planned to stay in a partnering hotel closer the city but when we arrived we found out they did not have enough rooms so we had to move to Hotel Petr. Thankfully, we were not let down by this hotel.

The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean and spacious. There was a nice bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities and comfortable beds. The breakfast was quite nice too.

It is a little out of town but if you enjoy walking around and seeing other parts of the city - it is great! It is very a quiet area but we couldnt find many good places to eat nearby (though we could have been looking in the wrong areas?!). It is right near a tram stop too - so easy to get into the city centre if you dont like walking.

This hotel is in a good location, a short tram ride from the main sites of Prague. Our room on the fifth floor was small, but adequate. The view is very limited, but the street outside is quiet and there were inexpensive, authentic Czech restaurants nearby. The beds (two narrow twins joined together) were comfortable, but not roomy. Towels were thin, but changed regularly. The hair dryer was barely adequate. Staff was very friendly with adequate English; continental breakfast included cereal, cold meats, cheese, bread and vegetables. We were pleased to discover a computer in the room off the lobby, but annoyed that the staff hadn't mentioned it to us. We appreciated the lady at the front desk who allowed us to use their computer and printer to confirm and print airline boarding passes

Room Tip: Most rooms seem to be quiet. Fifth floor is to high to see anything as a ledge blocks view of the s...
