“The bridge in the month of March”
Reviewed 7 March 2012

We were blessed with a bright sunny day. The atmosphere was festive, the tourists were all happy, and there was a relaxed and casual feeling all around. People were making faces standing next to some statues. Others were grouping together for photo opps. i enjoyed the mini stalls selling the same touristy stuff but most with a creative twist. The vendors were not pushy and somewhat casual. They were all very friendly when engaged. Historically the bridge is important and I would suggest carrying a small guide to explain each monument.

“One of the symbols of Prague : a must see”
Reviewed 7 March 2012

Charles Bridge is one of the most visited places of Prague. The building of the bridge has an amazing story. King Charles 4th ordered the building to start on 1357/9/7 @ 5hrs 31min when you put the figures next to each other it makes a nice symmetry : 1 3 5 7 9 7 5 3 1. There are many statutes on both sides and you can see the Vltava river underneath. Nice view in the night. Many travelers advise to avoid visiting middle of the day, specially in summer time. In February already, there were many tourists. I can imagine how it looks like in Summer. Some statutes are undergoing some restoration. You can also see the bridge from the river sea trip on board the boats. Don't forget to have a look inside the tower. There is a short video presentation on the history of the bridge.

“A Nice Walk”
Reviewed 7 March 2012

it was a very scenic walk across the bridge, and has lots of things going on, from the "Bridge Band" to the artists selling their work (although they are quite expensive and unwilling to haggle). All in all, worth a visit, and chances are you'll come back more than once, as it's worth visiting day and night.
