Nicely located hotel on the main square. Walkable from the train station. The room was clean though furnishings were out-of-date. Service was good. There are a lot of nice restaurants and bars within a few blocks of this location (we particularly enjoyed Restaurace Karla IV). Overall, a solid hotel choice in the area.

Fantastic hotel, luxe, friendly people, superb breakfast with lot of choice and a room with a view over the market place and this for a great price: top.
What else do you want? Great hotel, nothing negative to say

Located in the center of town...this hotel is perfect. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast could have had more choices but was adequate. If you are going to Chesky Budejovice...you want to stay here.

We arrived Cesky Budejovice to be staying in the beautiful Grand Hotel Zvon, right in the middle of the old town square. Lovely building, large luxurious rooms, good wifi and appears to be good working A/C, fridge/minibar. English TV Channel’s available. Disappointing was the shower/bath combination. The screen doesn’t stop water ingress on the floor and makes it hazardous getting in and out due to constricted movement, height and slope of the bath. A unique feature is the car elevator to park cars and bicycles on the first floor. Staff very friendly, helpful and speak English. Dinner in the Zvon Restaurant. Entree Salad with “bacon”, Trout with potatoes and dessert was pancakes with warm raspberries sauce and cream. All very delicious.

We have stayed at hundreds of hotels over the last few years. This is a good night’s stay. The positives: clean property and room (though not quite up to the cleanliness level of German or Austrian hotels), good water pressure in sink, good room and bath lighting, walking distance to restaurants, located on the historic square, friendly and accommodating reception staff, comfortable bed, air conditioning (but not up to USA quality air conditioning), secure bicycle storage (in the rooftop car parking lot reached by car elevator), clean linens, good elevator. The negatives: air conditioning not up to USA level of air conditioning( though it does allow you to keep the windows closed if your room faces the square, WiFi was in and out sometimes disappearing as guests checked in ( they need to improve this), breakfast selections pretty sparse and breakfast staff treats you with indifference ( especially the chubby blonde woman who basically glared at us when we entered the breakfast room. Bottom line- a good night’s stay at a fair price (65 Euros for a “comfort room.”
