We were in the area for new year getaway and as it was New Years eve we were very doubtful of getting a place that could accomodate 6 people for dinner. We stopped in Carndonagh to see what was there and came across the Butterbean, Lovely warm and inviting from outside so we went in.

We were met by a friendly waitress who seated us straight away. Restaurant was not that busy surprisingly . Menu was fantastic - something for everyone and with pescitarians, meat eaters and vegetarians in group thats not always easy to do!

Food order was taken quickly and delivered even faster. Food was delicious - hot and tasty. Service was excellent. Recommend the butterbean burger and the veggie enchiladas - really good!

We were surprised with the bill - it was very reasonable for what we got. We expected it to be alot more.

If you are in the Inishowen area I highly recommend the Butterbean as a place to stop - atmosphere is great and food ever better!

We decided to stop for lunch in Carndonagh whilst doing the Inishowen 100. We just happened to park across from the Butterbean and both agreed it looked like a nice place to eat. Great friendly welcome received as we walked in the door, took our names for customer tracing and shown to our seats. They had a good varied menu for that time of the day from salads, sambos to hot food. I settled for the open prawn salad and the wife had the roast of the day. Both dishes were out in good time and nice portions too. Oh I also had a side of garlic potatoes whites were smothered in Garlic butter, if you love garlic you’ll love these. Service was impeccable. If we are up that direction again we’ll be sure to stol by for food.

Stayed here for two nights. Scott was an excellent host, very friendly and welcoming. Rooms are spotless and breakfast was first class. All the staff are friendly, polite and nothing was to much bother. Very central location for visiting places of interest. Second time we have stayed there and will definitely be back.

The Butterbean is not only an excellent b and b but also a really fantic restaurant! The B&B is extremely clean modern and comfortable. The breakfast is superb and very arge . The staff are very helpful and lovely and Scott is a great guy who is very friendly and helpful The restaurant is also very good and i highly recommended this establishment!

When we stopped by, they were offering outdoor dining only.
The staff were very welcoming, super friendly.
The food was nice, service was good, and the food arrived exceptionally quickly.
The burgers were the winner, nice and big, and very tasty .
