Took our 3 1/2 yo granddaughters for 5.00pm Friday fish & chip happy hour. The fish & chips came out quickly, were really nice, asked for an extra plate so twins could share their meal. We also asked for a slice of lemon for the fish - an extra $1. Went to pay the bill & we were charged $1.50 for the side plate. Not a lot of money, but outrageous for a basic corner cafe on the peninsula. Have never experienced “platage” at any other restaurant.
The regular food prices are also far too expensive for the type of cafe it is.
It’s a real shame because there aren’t too many places to eat in McCrae & we won’t be going back there.
The coffee is also far too expensive - $5 for a medium.
