Took our 3 1/2 yo granddaughters for 5.00pm Friday fish & chip happy hour. The fish & chips came out quickly, were really nice, asked for an extra plate so twins could share their meal. We also asked for a slice of lemon for the fish - an extra $1. Went to pay the bill & we were charged $1.50 for the side plate. Not a lot of money, but outrageous for a basic corner cafe on the peninsula. Have never experienced “platage” at any other restaurant.
The regular food prices are also far too expensive for the type of cafe it is.
It’s a real shame because there aren’t too many places to eat in McCrae & we won’t be going back there.
The coffee is also far too expensive - $5 for a medium.

Thank Joanne Mortimor... M

This is not your trendy peninsula restaurant, the hot food is a bit processed, but the cakes are lovely and so are the drinks.
I would recommend this place for morning/afternoon tea

Very average .. expensive.. wife's seafood tapas was bland, very small with nothing more than a serve of sweet chili sauce and a coriander leaf. Very disappointing. Took my meal home in a plastic container.

i've started calling this the "pirate cafe" due to their high pricing of coffee. When Merchant and Maker is busy up the road... I've given up waiting and gotten a coffee from here only to regret it for both price and taste.

The food is perfect, with nice portion and really tasty. We had a nice time except that we didn’t know that we had to order at the desk so we waited quite a long time without one member of the staff explaining the process.
