Came for dinner on my own no license but they are happy for you to go to the local supermarket and get a drink meters away. Food was well cooked . I had the BBQ roast duck and loved it .

I purchased takeaway from here.

Food was good without being great, with a large serve.

Definitely value for money, but nothing to write home about.

I am a local and I came back after over a year with a friend who was visiting from Perth. My roast duck noodles and his sizzling beef was pretty good.

We are locals, so regularly order takeout, but it's always been tasty. The staff are very friendly too

Red Ginger is a bit hard to find, hidden away in a small shopping centre behind Macquarie Uni. Parking is generally not a problem.
The menu is fairly typical of a suburban Thai (or more accurately Chinese/Thai) restaurant: fried rice, curries, stir-fries, noodle dishes, etc, plus an array of 'signature dishes'. The food is fine, though I haven't ventured as far as one of the signature dishes as yet.
At lunch-time the restaurant offers $10 specials that offer very good value for money. This includes fried rice dishes or a curry (red, green, yellow, jungle) served with rice. Noodle dishes are slightly more expensive, as are curries with duck or prawns as main ingredient. The servings are generous for the price, though the portion of rice that come with the curries is not terribly large, and if you ask for a top-up it sets you back another $1.40. Oh well, I guess it is still a cheap lunch.
Service is not terribly attentive.
