Description: The Venissa Estate is situated on the island of Mazzorbo, which together with Torcello and Burano, forms an archipelago of nature, colours, art and flavours at the heart of Native Venice. In front of the lagoon, under the shelter of the portico looking out on to the vineyard is the Osteria Contemporanea. To eat, the reinterpretation of the recipes of the ladies of Burano made with the harvest of our gardens and the catch of the day. To drink, a selection of the best wines of the Tri-Veneto region. To see, the colors of the lagoon and the vineyard that is reborn in springtime.

Creative and delicious cuisine. Bread was great, crusty, whole grain, with a touch of nutty sweetness.

Situated in the middle of a vegetable garden where most of the ingredient on the menu come from, a wine yard where they grow a unique variety of grape and make a limited edition of “vino del
doge” and and a canal with a “vaporetto” stop nearby.
A little green gem in Venice:)
Beautiful place with excellent service and delicious local food.

We found this place 5 years ago while walking from the Mezzorbo vaporetti stop to Burano. I was very impressed with the gardens but didn’t know what it was. Soooo, when we decided to come back to Venice, I researched a little and realized it was a restaurant. Had to go. We went for lunch and for 60 euro let the chef feed us. We had typical, delicious Venetian food. Soft shell crabs, fried seasoned sardines, lasagna and fabulous tiramisu. The portions are not large but they are delicious. Now I can take it off the list.

Truly fantastic food and wine. Inexplicably the place was not packed out - surely not because it is less than 5 minutes from the the main centre - and we counted ourselves lucky to come across this place. Everything about the venue is pitched perfectly from the walled vineyard garden through to the service. Our best dining experience in Venice and surprisingly good value for money.

Excellent service although could hear the drains through out and was cold. Yummy local food although was not hot.
