The Castle is located in the historic center, where all the tourist thing are. Is nothing amazing, but was a formidable tour.

This castle has been restored to it's former glory and a wlk around the ramparts gives you great views of the surrounding countryside and the adjacent cathedral. It's a must visit to Zamora.

The castle is free to enter and is the end point of a nice historical walk through Zamora.

As castles go it is fairly average, but they have made the castle as accessible as possible with new walkways. There are good views over the surrounding area from the towers.

Surrounding the castle is a nice park with sculptures, where you can rest in the shade for a while.

I have been told that the Castillo has undergone major transformations. It went from being a medieval castle to becoming a centre for education that sheltered art and languages students. More recently, the castle became a museum. You can now go in and see the ruins and the original construction. You can also go on the highest wall and walk along it to admire the breathtaking view of this small charming city. My only recommendation is that you don't wear heels on your visit.
