We have stayed at Cilento before and had been reasonably happy with the standard of rooms but this last bad experience means that we won't be staying again. The 2 bedroom apartment was booked online and we chose the no spa option. We were given a disabled unit on level 2 which was dark, dingy, had no bathroom cabinet and no proper walls in the 2nd bedroom. It was right outside the liftwell so was noisy with lights on all night and had no privacy. When I complained to the receptionist about the type of unit we were given she said "no spa" means it will be an "accessible" unit! I pointed out that the website did not state this curious definition and she just said it wasn't her responsibility. I asked her to contact the manager so I could speak to him but as I still have not heard from him, I assume he was too cowardly to do his job...

Room Tip: Ring first to ensure you have a room on an upper floor that is away from the lift.

I am sorry your unit did not have water views - as one lady said "What a shame they built those buildings in front of Cilento". Thank you for saying that the units were very clean and comfortable and that you enjoyed your breakfasts. Janet.

We went away to Mooloolaba for 3 days and two nights with a group of people. The apartment that we stayed in was only one street back from the beach. It was modern, spacious and clean. It was also within walking distance of the shops, restaurants, the beach and other facilities. I would stay there again. There is a full kitchen so you can bring your own food and prepare your own meals if you are on a budget or if it is easier with a famiy. The pool is a bit small but nice. Our room had a spa in the main bedroom and it was quite good, can fit two people. Overall would go back, and would take the family next time.

Thanks again for all of your help and assistance to us while we were with you – from listening to our woes after arriving late at Cilento, to giving us free use of the extra bedroom and bathroom that made us feel more like being at home, and then continuing assistance with hints and directions as to where to go. We were very grateful for all of this and more, which made our stay all the more enjoyable.

We certainly enjoyed Mooloolaba and were very impressed with the many features and facilities which it has to offer. We thought the Esplanade with its overall design, landscaping, roads and pathways, seating areas, lawn and beach areas were all superb and quite magnificent. They all provided great access for visitors to the beaches, apartments, restaurants and cafes.

Plus everyone seemed to have a “being on holiday” style about them, everyone was so relaxed, friendly and helpful, it reflected so well on Mooloolaba and Australians in general. Also the cleanliness of everybody was amazing and we saw so many people walk a distance to put their litter in the bins provided. This clearly showed their pride in the resort, and in Australia that your country is famous for.

And we thought the Surf Club which is famous for its meals was an attraction on its own, especially for the special deal that they offered to seniors every night.

We hope we might be able to get back again some day.

Kind regards to you and your husband.

Room Tip: Book direct - great managers

Didn't really like this place. Stayed there for a weekend away with the boyfriend. First thing that hit us was the smell of bleach which was through the entire apartment. The place was definitely clean but the smell was horrible and so strong. We had to open all the windows and doors to let some air in. The balcony looked onto the back of adjacent apartments and all you could hear was the air conditioning units for that place. Had to keep the door closed to get some quiet. Carpet was also stained and made the place look very run down. There are no views of the water from this hotel so if this is what you're looking for stay elsewhere. I didn't really think this place was value for money, it was reasonably expensive and I expected more given this. One postitive was we were given breakfast vouchers as part of our package to a delightful cafe on the promenade which was great to start the day and saved some money. There is also a full kitchen in these apartments with excellent cutlery, crockery and pots and pans. Very short walk (across the road through adjacent apartments) to the main strip, cafes, restaurants, shops and beachfront.
