We've been staying at Monaco since it opened and went back for a few weeks recently. We checked in quickly and efficiently. We stayed in two apartments as when we arrived it was the January long weekend and the place was full. We moved to a higher apartment with little fuss after the first night. The first apartment had been updated and the interior furnishings were almost new. The second apartment had some of the original furniture and the wear is beginning to show, with the lounge being quite worn and needing recovering, the fridge had a leak in the ice maker in the freezer compartment and the washer and dryer showing signs of wear.
In the big scheme this did not affect our holiday and when we mentioned the issues, the staff were responsive and attentive. In fact we had a couple of basic issues, flat battery in a remote and a blown bulb, staff were in our room fixing these simple things within 10 minutes of our call to reception.
The lifts in this building work and even when it's busy, you never have to wait long, a problem with some other high rise buildings we have stayed in. The views are magnificent and there's always something to look at from your balcony. There's a bunch of shops and restaurants nearby, within walking distance and a quaint local market in the main street just around the corner on Sundays, a great place to buy fresh fruit and other produce.
The local beach, Bulcock Beach is great for a lazy float in the calm water and there's usually a surf available around the corner at Kings Beach, though this year, the surf was non existant...oh well, next year!
We'll be back. Keep up the good work.
