Run by the National Trust this museum features many interesting details of the mostly mining and metal refining past of Port Pirie. Volunteers with a keen interest and obvious pride in their township are able to provide personal anecdotes of their working lives in the refinery. Cost is just $7 which goes towards upkeep of the property. Well worth a visit if you enjoy history.

You can spend two or three hours here. Lots about the town’s history, railways, police, etc. Something for everyone. Some of the displays are cluttered and lack labelling - work in progress! Volunteers very helpful with loads of information. Definitely worth a visit.

The museum is in the Main Street . They have a collection of how Port Pirie began and what life was like. You can see the old police station, customs house and a camera display. I found it interesting .
