Whitsunday Terraces Resort

I stayed here for 3 nights whilst in the area. It was perfect for what I wanted and the views were pretty good. The room was clean and felt very safe. When I walked into my room the alarm was off which was strange but I just pressed the button to stop it and no more problems after that. The only downside to this place for me was the bed, it kept sliding on the floors and was pretty annoying but other than that couldnt complain. The people at reception were helpful. Location: the hill was hard to walk up but good exercise. when I left my room I walked down the steep hill and right in the main strip of airlie beach. A suprise visit from some friendly birds that sit on the balcony edge and a few lizards made my stay interesting.

Stayed here for 5 nights in February. We had the most fantastic view from our studio apartment, you could not wish for a better view of the ocean. The studio was a good size, clean and well equipped. We thought the outside areas of the resort looked a bit tired particularly the stairways. Very convenient for the main street for shops, restaurants and the lagoon. Only drawback is the steep hill on the way back but it is worth this for the view. Free wifi in pool and restaurant area only.

Stayed here many times. In Airlie Beach twice a year and always stay here. Rooms are a bit mixed, some more tired than others, but great views from balconies and short walk to town make it a great option.

This was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in for it's price ($150 p/n). There was no breakfast, lunch or dinner available. The neighbors, partied every night and with paper thin walls we could hear everything. They had a load of visitors, male and female, fights and were very drunk, were smoking dope and literally stayed up all night. The spilled out onto the balcony, despite our first request for them to keep the noise down at 2am and our last request at 4.45am nothing changed.
The staff were friendly, when you could find them. The rooms were not cleaned, in the five nights, we had to search for a rubbish bin, which we were eventually advised buy the staff that we should use the green wheelie bins at the front of the hotel. No toilet paper or towels were provided either. As mentioned, though friendly, when we asked, we were advised by the staff that apart from the first roll of toilet paper, no-more would be supplied despite us staying for 5 nights. The whole complex is tired and run down, our balcony door lock was broken leaving us vulnerable to theft etc.
Even at a 10th of the price the this place was not worth if for the lack of sleep.

This was my second stay here. This time with friends. It was cheap and cheerful, but that's about it. The single beds were not very comfortable. And a comfy bed is really what you need after climbing the steep hill to get to this place.

Our view wasn't great either as most of it was obscured by the roof of the apartments on the next level below us.

It's only a five minute walk to the main street on Airlie and about 8 minutes walk to the bus interchange.

I would bring less luggage with me next time as it's a hard slog getting up that hill to the Whitsunday Terraces.

Room Tip: Try not to be in the buildings further up the hill as it's a steep climb with your bags!
