We stayed here on a one day layover to the islands. Wonderful and very helpful staff. Room has been refurbished and restaurant dinner was excellent. Really looked after us and the kids. We will be back.

We spent two nights here on our way from Cairns heading south. We booked a day trip to the Whitsundays and wanted to have a place close to the Marina. Colonial Palms is right across from the Marina so it was a 5 minute walk to catch our early morning excursion. The hotel itself is quaint, with updated rooms that are comfy and clean. Our 1 bedroom slept 4 adults comfortably and we loved the view of the pool and marina from our second floor apartment. Our breakfast in the morning was lovely - toast, hot coffee and tea, cereals, yogurts, fresh fruit and granolas - perfect. Beach towels are available for the beach and for the day trippers and our hosts were warm and friendly. It was a short 8 minute walk into the Airlie Beach main street where you can find terrific shops and fantastic restaurants. Wifi is inconsistent in the rooms but more accessible in the public spaces. So shut off the electronics and take in the view. I would recommend this great little gem for couples, families and travellers who want to be close to town in an affordable, friendly inn.

Stayed in room 23. Bessa block old room. Able to hear the traffic all night and from early in the morning (Sunday Night). Pool not functioning and water feature appears broken. Breakfast was OK. Table wobbled and coffee went everywhere. What can you do?

We appreciated all comments regarding your stay with us. All are acted upon so that we can improve our services and standards to guests.
The motor inn is 31 years old and the split bessa block is a feature not seen in many other block styles buildings. It was trendy at the time of construction and compliments with Med/Raffles architecture. The rooms have been extensively renovated over the past 3 years.
We are surprised at the noise factor. Many return guests request this room!!
Generally there is little traffic noise after 10.00pm but there will be some traffic noise from about 5.30am as there is only one road thru Airlie Beach and we are on a roundabout where all staff and workers head for the early ferries to the islands.

The pool is always in use but the water feature is awaiting repairs to the underground reticulation systems which were damaged in TC Debbie.
Our restaurant floors are unique in that they feature Chinese slate which has an irregular surface. Margaret has little wedges to stabilise all tables if the require it. You just ask and our helpful staff will oblige,

We stayed here as part of a tour package. The host came on board the coach and a gave a run through on services available etc. Rooms were extra large with large king bed. Even had a microwave, and toaster which seem to be mising from a lot of places. Meals were great. Pool towels were even available to take away on whitsunday cruise.(that was handy for the lace monitor that decided it was good for sun bathing). Customer service was excellent.

Thanks Peter for your comments which re appreciated by all of us/our workers. We try very hard to provide coach groups with a welcoming experience and set ourselves high standards. Any comment whether good or bad is accepted so that we can continue to improve our services to guests.

We would also suggest you talk to the coach operator to allow you more time to relax and enjoy the Whitsundays

Beautiful clean room, comfy massive bed and private balcony which overlooks the pool and the sea! Situated a few minutes walk from the heart of Airlie... Very friendly staff, free continental breakfast which was so refreshing! AND they have free extra parking for your tinny! Definitely great value for money... will stay again!

We welcome you the next time you try your hand at fishing or boating in the Whitsundays.

Having the boat ramp opposite the motor inn is another advantage for guests
