“A little coffee shop with lots of personality!”

Cedrick's Coffee House
Ranked #1 of 2 Coffee & Tea in Crofton
Restaurant details
Reviewed 19 September 2017 via mobile

Gerry & Judith Fewster have created a little gem in the little town of Crofton on main Street. The décor is beautiful with lots of fine wood carpentry and a georgeous live edged counter. This is a quaint little place where you can meet with a friend over a coffee and a small lunch. The coffee profits go to a charity called 'Kids International' where they help rehabilitate Cambodian girls and keep them off the streets.
There is an outdoor sitting area in the back and they sometimes have small concerts with artists playing on the small stage.

Small coffeehouse in "downtown" Crofton. Formerly known as Carol's Place, the place has been there for decades. Jane and Jerry took it over now several years back and did a wonderful job renovating it.
The owners created the place to help support their friends' charity, K.I.D.S. International, a registered Canadian charity supporting education, healtcare and water systems in Cambodia.
The coffee is great, and there are homemade sandwiches too. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating for a couple dozen. The place is big enough for small community meetings too.
There are local artists' items on display for purchase too.
If you have a half-an-hour to kill before the Saltspring ferry this is a good place to hang.
Next to the Post Office, General Store, and the famous Crofton Shop'n'Wash.

Was in the area for work and needed a quick lunch. Lots on offer, fresh made. Goodies on the counter and a wonderful cinnamon smell in the air from freshly made cinnamon buns. Had one - they are different from what I'm used to... this one had no icing, and was served with butter. No raisins - yes! Good texture, average taste though. I guess I just prefer cream cheese icing on my cinnamon buns. Had a pot of tea and an egg sandwich. Very warm service, lots of smiles. Nice area to sit inside and even nicer outside the back in the sunshine.

This cafe was a wonderful surprise. Stopping by a small cafe in a small town, I entered expecting the usual North American small town cafe offerings of sandwiches with fries or chips, burgers, etc. Instead I ordered a delicious hot panini filled with sliced turkey, Brie and cranberries and the best iced coffee ever. The owner varies the menu regularly and prepares and serves the food herself. She also provides a showcase for some of the local craftspeople to display their products - pottery, jewellery and scarves from Vietnam and China.
