What service! We misread the web site to think that we could show up on any day for one of the tours and jump in. When we woke up early one Thursday, we drove in to arrive in advance of the Canyoning Waterfall Excursion. They hadn't planned for anyone, but called a guide in and within 20 minutes, we're were geared up and ready to go!

The canyoning tour is fabulous. I can't imagine what the tour would be if you just went to the waterfall to look and came back. We visited El Limon waterfall, and then hiked the river back to town, including jumping off smaller waterfalls, swimming down the river, and sliding down rocks. Once we left the river, it was a 10 or 15 minute hike through residential and farm areas to get back to the restaurant.

What really made it was our FABULOUS guide Andres (I'm sure I misspelled it). He was so friendly and knowledgeable about the river and the town. You could tell he had a great pride in the beauty and history of his community. He had broken English (he's much more proficient in Dutch and French), but we got by fine. He kept checking on us as we traveled through the more treacherous areas ("You okay, lady? Lady, you okay?").

I will say, that the canyoning trip requires a good amount of energy and athleticism. It's a LONG walk down the river, and near then end your legs are really getting tired, which results in some clumsiness. My husband and I both hike, swim and workout, and are generally healthy -- but we found ourselves slipping and tripping, especially near the end. I think this trip is an AMAZING way to see the waterfall, but be sure you have the sure-footing and health to tackle it.

We did purchase the lunch (an additional $8US) after the tour. It was good food, served by a friendly staff. And we had a very nice conversation with Santi himself.

This was one of my favorite parts of our trip to Las Terranas, and I highly recommend it (even with my scratches and bruises!).

We wanted to do the waterfall excursion and we didnt know that Santi has also a restaurant which is incredible. We was greated by his wife Suny who is a wonderful person, we really had an amazing local breakfast, we enjoyed their Restaurant, the service provided by Suny and we had the horseback tour to the waterful. After we finished the excursion we stopped to have a tasty handmade piña colada in the mountain, we really recommend everybody to taste it. Finaly we went back to the Restaurant and met Santi, he is very smart, talkative and just like his wife, AWESOME host and owner. We enjoyed once again Suny's meal, the lunch was included in the excursion which is really nice, the food was fantastic, we really want to come back and enjoy talking to this terrific couple.

Santi runs a great deal on a horseback ride excursion to El Limon waterfall with lunch included. My husband and I had a fabulous time and enjoyed the traditional Dominican lunch served afterward. We paid 2,400 pesos in total - which is quite a deal for 2 people. You can show up at the restaurant at any time during the day to request the excursion. They get the horse ready then send you off. We had a blast and highly recommend Santi.

My son and I stopped in while traveling through El Limon. This place is perfect, Santi and his beautiful family served us an excellent meal at a very fair price. We shared parrot fish and the goat special as well as several side dishes, all was very good. Service was good, food was even better. Eat here if you are in the area, you can't miss it right on the Main Street at the main intersection. Also, if you need a rest they have set up a quite area in the back with some hammocks, loungers and books.

Really good experience. They came to our hotel to pick us up. We started our journey with Santi going to Cayo Levantado, the beach there is amazing and the water or cristal clear. From there we took a boat and we went to El Parque de Los Haitises. Going with Santi was a great experience since he took us to incredible places with no more tourists. We also went to caves and floating forests. After that he took us for lunch to a nice restaurant which was included on the price and we ate chicken, fish, potatoes, spaghetti... And all of this in a very friendly and fun environment. Very good experience! Thank you so much Santi!!
