Review of Field of Light

Thus was the highlight of our trip, and we did everything!
Photos just do not do it justice, and we did the sunrise tour after we were advised that this was the better time of day.
I cannot more highly Recommend!

Can't describe. and pictures don't do it justice. A brilliant piece of world class outdoor art that is a must see.

We were there 2 nights and both nights it got cancelled so we ended up on a sunrise tour and I am so glad because Sunrise was a fantastic time to see it!

Something different from just another historical tour. As you turn the corner and Uluru comes in to sight you are greeted with an amazingly impressive field of coloured lights. Our tour with AAT kings was well organised, the viewing area covered Kata Tjuta too and we enjoyed hot drinks as the sun came into view

We did the sound of silence dinner as well. Very exxy, considering the food you get (think buffet style). However the light installation is quite a thing to marvel at. The only bummer was being told off for using a tripod in the field. There was NO mention of this at any stage by anyone, and we listen to instructions as we know the cultural sensitivity of the land for the local indigenous people.

After being told off for using or tripod (mind you the tripod was mounted in a seating area away from the walking track, and it wasn’t in the field at all) we had one of the staff follow us throughout the whole trip. Fine, if you want to follow us this close then I might as well ask you to take a few photos for us!! But we did sneak in a few good photos when the tripod was up.

Do yourself a favour and bring a proper camera for photos, the low light conditions are not ideal for an iPhone camera. As they will turn out looking underwhelming and will not do the spectacle any justice.

You’d need maybe 15 minutes tops to take photos and be on your way, so in a way it was a one trick pony. Perhaps if they had a higher viewing point, to allow people to see the lights from a better vantage point it would be even better.

Please don’t step into the field itself or touch the lights!! There were a few inconsiderate tourists who did and it wasn’t a pretty conversation from the staff members either.
