We stayed here for one night on our drive through the South Island and were not disappointed - the chalet was well appointed, clean and was right by the beach.

Staff were friendly and the glow worm fell opposite was an interesting find!

Note however it gets cold in the mornings in Hokitika and the heating takes forever to warm up so put it on overnight if you want to avoid waking up and being able to see your breath!

The staff were super friendly. We had to add an extra night the day before due to issues with our flights and travel. We were going to arrive after the office closed but they were not concerned at all and told us to enjoy our drive and they would leave a key and instructions. Our room was a king beach front chalet and was a little cabin you entered from the sliding glass door on the porch. It has a nice kitchenette and bathroom and it's own parking space. There is a heater in the bathroom, space heater for the room, and heated blanket so you will be warm! Outside is a pasture with a horse and the beach is just beyond. Gorgeous sunsets and this is a short walk across the road to the Glow Worm Dell which is a must see! The place could use a little updating but it was minor for a cabin on a beach area. I highly recommend for the price!

This lodge is located not too far from the village and within mins walk to the beach and is located just across the road from the Glow worm dell. The room I booked is not beach front but I believe they have beachfront ones. The receptionist is lovely. Room is quaint with log walls on one part. Heater is noisy and I wish it were warmer. Wifi signal is poor from my room so it's a bit difficult to research and surf the internet.

The cabins are very clean and neat and being made of logs made it very authentic. Very easy access to the beach and only a few minutes from the town centre. The on site mini farm was a nice touch... Just don't get to close to the lama... He spat on everyone that came near him... It was hilarious!

The view of the beach was great. Fantastic location as easy access to the beach and near Hokitika. Very quiet. Great pressure in the shower.

We were not given Wi fi when we checked in but this was listed in the motel information book as being available. We arrived in the dark and there were no lights on and the place was freezing. Next time we'll take a torch. The table and chairs outside were filthy so didn't use them.
