The rooms are a little tired especially the kitchen area. Safe was not working on arrival but was fixed later that day. Bed comfortable and towels were the best that i have ever had in my travels. Had an upstairs apartment only 1 bathroom for 4 adults. Little cramped and busy in the mornings. Check in staff friendly. Grounds and pool area very nice. Very central to the town centre. Great location. Would recommend it. Wi fi reception was very poor. Very intermittent.

Room Tip: Two story 2 bedroom apartment near the front of the motel.

We had a two room apartment and while the unit was comfortable, the furnishings etc were tie.kitchen appliances could do with modernising and cupboards needed maintence
Spent 5 nights over Easter and while an enjoyable stay, not accommodation we would book again.

Room Tip: Select a room away from crowded cluster.

We thank you for taking the time to write a review and for giving us the opportunity to confirm that new furnishings in the two bedroom townhouses were installed last week. We acknowledge that the previous furnishings were faded and tired and are very pleased with the new look.

We stayed at the Quest Yelverton over the Easter weekend. We were in the older part of the place, in a small cluster of what used to be residential apartments.
Our place was very quiet. The apartment was very large. Great location, good parking, very convenient.
The kitchen area was small, but had everything we needed. Comfortable bed, good shower, a clean apartment. Furnishings were a bit tired, but we were told they are planning on upgrading.
There is a part of the Quest which is all around the pool, which could be a bit noisy during summer.
But, we had a very pleasant long weekend stay.
We'd stay again if we weren't near the pool.

Room Tip: Stay away from the pool area

New furniture arrives this coming Friday and we are sooooo excited!!!! Out with the old couches that have served us well and in with the new, sleek model. Yay!!
You know.....kids in the pool can be noisy, but it is a happy, summer sound. On the whole, guests are out and about during the day, so are not bothered anyway. The pool area is closed by 08:30 p.m., and we even turn the fountain off during the night so that our guests can get a good night's sleep.
Many thanks for staying with us and taking the time to write an even-handed review. We look forward to welcoming you again in the future.

Open area used by residents to drink & dine. Really noisy & management think this is okay, but if you've been on the road all day& want to sleep it is definitely not the place to stay. Shame because otherwise fine.

We do have a responsibility to cater to all guest requirements and try and find a happy balance when those needs may clash. We had spoken to the group of gentleman using the BBQ/picnic facility and requested that they pack up by 9:00 p.m. We never found them to be raucous or loud and had no feedback to the contrary on the evenings that they were here. We do however appreciate your taking the time to remark and thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

Let’s be clear – this place at a usual $170 a night rate (often higher) is what you pay for the Sydney Hilton. And no breakfast here either!

No idea WHO rated this 4½ Stars??? The owners perhaps, but that rating really is not justified. Hiltons and Marriots etc often do not rate that.

There are other accommodation options for HALF this nightly price in KAL, so clearly one expects top end, for top price, whether here or anywhere else. This could be FAR better in 1 working day, at almost zero cost.

Booked 4 nights late February, to have a break away from Sydney, to do some paperwork and get in some tourism.

Main reason I booked it was the rooms show a large table in the room photo Quest Yelverton uses on its own site, and other booking sites. Seemed perfect to spread out papers and 2 laptops, so booked it at about $650 for 4 nights.

That table seemed to be misleading, as is the very fancy looking room “Yelverton Lodge” which is very prominent in all their photos - it seems like a paid meeting room and was firmly LOCKED during our 4 night stay, and clearly is not for paying guest access. HIGHLY DECEPTIVE as it is the MAIN photo used in Quest advertising, and is clearly not for guests!

Check in was via a surly young dark girl on total bored auto pilot, who handed over key with no smile.

Open room door to be greeted by a PUNGENT cigarette smell reeking room, and a tiny little floor level coffee table. A total joke so walked back to Miss Surly at desk, to ask for another room free of cigarette smoke, and WITH a decent work table of some kind please.

She rolls her eyes, and gives us another key for a room hopefully free of smelly smoke. (There are the usual room signs saying smoking incurs a $200 “fine” so go figger.)

That room had a little table with no power outlet handy for the 2 laptops. And was right by the swimming pool - which seeing it was 100 Degrees that week, had lots of screeching kids in there as is usual, so in a 3 wing property for 4 hot days, were keen to be holed up elsewhere.

Room 302 was a fair compromise - 3rd time lucky. No advertised corner Spa bath as on the other 2 units, but a decent size table for 2 to work on.

These are serviced apartments so have a decent sized Fridge, microwave, and stove and basic cutlery and crockery.

………………….. The PLUSSES ……………….

Despite the high room rate, this place has plusses. Easy parking, AC worked well, nice towels and bed linen, and internet was fine after wrestling with it for 10 minutes to figure out what network worked.

Close - walking distance, to a handy little shopping enclave, but a street off main drag, so nice and quiet.

As I started stating this is at Sydney Hilton room rates, and owners need to accept that fact, and spend a few bucks updating these pretty dated room interiors.

The dreadful 1970s plastic vanity basin taps can be swapped over by a handyman for $60 at Bunnings into something made this century. Add a 4 or 5 outlet power board on floor near table which now houses a light and modem and any guest laptops etc. Cost $30 with a 3 metre power lead from Bunnings, and again handyman installed.

Like all these un-renovated for decades places, power outlets are near non-existent. Today’s travellers with a battery of cameras, many phones and laptops to charge up will not accept this, and management needs to get with it, and spend the truly puny amount of money to add same.

Ditto with providing at least ONE full length mirror. A ton of places on the Bedroom walls (or door) for one to be added - again a $40 affix yourself item from Bunnings, but disinterested management have never added one. No excuse.

The only mirror in the entire unit is in the bathroom vanity that some 5 foot high leprechaun had screwed on fully one FOOT below where it needs to be - farcical. You can’t even brush your hair unless you also are a midget. Two screws to re-mount it – let’s see if Management actually reads or pays attention to Trip Advisor!

So score is 6 out of 10. Could be a TON better, for near zero cost in the scheme of accommodation costs. For the cost on ONE nights let, these rooms could be FAR more guest friendly going forward. The bones are good – but need a fast makeover.

Room Tip: Check room FIRST before unpacking.

Thank you…… we appreciate your sharing thoughts on your stay. All feedback is carefully considered as these comments help us to meet guest expectations and needs.
As you quite rightly point out, Quest Yelverton is an apartment hotel and therefore, one should consider the difference in product, not the price, though it is quite nonsensical to state availability of Sydney Hilton or Marriott at $170 per night; (you, by the way paid a discounted rate of $162.50 per night at Quest Yelverton). Our apartments give travellers space, flexibility and, cost effectiveness especially when you consider that snacks and meals can be made in your apartment instead of having to eat all meals in restaurants and, unlike the majority of hotel rooms, the use of wifi, parking and laundry facilities at our property are complimentary.
We have powerboards at Reception for guests who require additional electrical sockets and, would have gladly provided these if you had advised that the existing facilities were inadequate for your needs. The Yelverton Lounge is mainly used for workshops and seminars, but once again, if you had enquired, we would have been pleased to arrange access for you during your visit.
Details such as vanity basin taps are purely cosmetic. The ones we have are clean and functional and surely not of significance when choosing a place to stay. That being said, these particular apartments are undergoing a refurbishment and we are delighted that the pink laminate on the kitchen cupboards doors and, the plastic bathroom taps will soon be a thing of the past. The lack of a full length mirror will be addressed as part of the new furniture and whitegoods that are being installed for the refurbishment.
As you had advised us even before your arrival of your propensity to write Trip Advisor reviews because you are a “Senior Reviewer” and, unsuccessfully attempted to use this as a bullying bargaining tool for a further discounted rate, we really expected nothing more or less than what you have provided. Furthermore, the remarks that you have made with regard the “young dark girl” and “midgets” are blatantly discriminatory and offensive. Such allusions reflect the nature of your character and have nothing to do with offering a rational evaluation of our property.
We believe that our #1 Trip Advisor ranking, accorded by guest reviews, supports the fact that we deal fairly and equally with all manner of people and, we take pride in offering every one of our guests the comfort, respect and warm service that they expect and deserve.
Thank you for choosing to stay at Quest Yelverton Kalgoorlie.
