After researching photos of a number motels in Mt Gambier we chose The Commodore on the Park because it looked modern and clean. However when we got there we were given one of their old horrible rooms close to the highway and round about. We were travelling with a young child and had to pay extra for a so called single bed which was really a couch, and the queen bed we had was more like a double. The blinds did not block out light entirely so we had problems getting our child to sleep in a room with so much light. Since this roomed looked nothing like the photos posted on the Internet, I rang reception to check if we got the wrong room, the answer was (with a chuckle in his voice) that not all rooms have been renovated as shown on the photos. This is really false advertising and leads to major disappointment for the customer. So only stay here if you can be assured of one of the renovated rooms otherwise avoid staying here.
