We came here on the Easter long weekend and wasn’t sure what to expect as we aren’t really zoo people, we arrived early hired a buggy and must say thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience it was Fantastic from the enclosures to the animals and set up of zoo. Best of all the animals looked happy and had plenty of space. Next stop Africa! A bit of a tip is to get there early the animals were all lively and awake at this time when we went back the next afternoon they were all sleeping and not quite as active.

Came here on an Easter long weekend as two families with 4 children amongst us (ages ranging 2-8 years).

Tip No. 1 - If you’re after an electric buggy/cart or a caboose for the little ones, line up early - Very early, ie an hour before opening, as they run out quickly.

Tip No. 2 - If you have a child who wants to ride their bike around the 6km circuit, they’d better be a competent rider in crowds.

Tip No. 3 - Pack your own food, or be resigned to standing in long lines to buy terrible fried food and junk.

Tip No. 4 - Pack sunscreen!

Final tip - look forward to a great day. The animals and the setting are amazing.

Very busy over Easter, best animal viewing in the morning, however the crowds made it difficult. It was much easier to get around and see animals after lunch.

We were at the zoo on what is apparently one their busiest days in the year... Easter Saturday.
It was busy.. but not enough to hinder the day.
We hired geared bikes and made our way around the 5km track.
Even though it was a 34°c day.. you wouldn't have known it. there was a beautiful breeze that was refreshing.
The safari style zoo is what makes it so special and exciting.
The facilites are great. There are plenty of restrooms along the way. About 3 cocered picnuc areas. A cafe at the entry. A kiosk half way through and stations where you can fill your bottles with drinking water.
You can bring your own bicycle or hire some. Also can hire a bike with caboose, strollers, electric carts.. or you can drive your car though with plenty of parking area to get out and explore.
Is a must for everyones Bucket Lists!
