Dear Ankit

Thanks for your positive review in regards to your stay with us. We enjoy having many guests from India stay with us at the Hotel and have specifically designed a programme to make their stay with us better.

This includes have Indian Newspapers, TV and welcome booklets explaining points of interest, having Indian speaking staff and chefs that can authentically prepare meals for most dietary requirements.

A few years back we had a Bollywood film shot in the Hotel called I Hate Luv Stories and this has been well received by this market.

We thank you for your comments and for staying with us and we hope that you will one day return to Queenstown to explore our Region more.

Thanks

This is my second night - second night with power cuts in the evening. Now this isn't the hotels fault in itself BUT they could provide torches, advice or assistance to guests left in dark rooms - but we didn't see or hear from anyone on either occasion - and couldn't get off our floor as the doors to the lift were shut off. Tip to hotel - check on your customers, visit each floor and maybe invite guests left in the dark to the foyer for a coffee or company while the power is out, people on our floor were scared. Better customer service (or any) would have saved the day. Ruined an otherwise great hotel stay.

Dear Jennie1975

Thanks for your review - it is always disappointing to hear that we have had a guest leave not having the experience we would wish and I would invite you to make contact with me to discuss ways that I could make amends for this.

We acknowledge that we have had an issue with the power that failed to the building for a period. We have attempted to ensure that we did everything possible to find what the fault was by working with our power supplier and electrical contractors. This is not a situation we have had in the 7 years I have managed this hotel and clearly we would want to address it so that the problem does not cause issues for others. With 273 rooms sold and the entire building without power we have taken the actions that we could to look after our guests but as you can imagine our main focus was on sorting out the issue as quickly as we could so that our guests were inconvenienced as little as possible.

Your specific comments about being able to communicate with guests is accepted and will be discussed further with the team - to put this in to perspective though the second night that this occured the power was out for 15-20 minutes and it was not possible to get around all 273 rooms in this time. We are however taking some other actions to ensure that we can better cope with similar situations should they occur - although again we have not had this situation occur in the past.

Thanks for your feedback - we do hope that you enjoyed other aspects of your stay and your holiday in Queenstown - you rated the location and the hotel well but we understand your concerns over this incident and apologise that this inconvenienced you..

Regards

Very disappointing during stay. Await for an hour for dinner to deliver to room, then find out they send to wrong room. When I started dinner half building power out. Ask for torch never come. Can not even use kettle because of rusty and strange smell. Basically poor service, old building. Will not come back.

Great views, cheap rooms, lovely staff. Stayed here while visiting Queenstown resort college, will be back for sure! Central to town and restaurants, 100m from the lakefront it's incredible. Enjoyed it a lot see you next time Queenstown.

We could easily walk to everything in town. The hotel is clean and quiet. The staff is friendly and helpful. Overall, a very good experience. The concierge helped us plan activities. I recommend Novotel to other traveling families. Other guests were friendly and helpful.
