This motel consists of about 10 maybe 2-unit facilities. The one we had (6) was a two bedroom that could sleep 5 so it's perfect for families. There are nice barbeque facilities. Only 3 of the units were occupied during our stay of two nights. It was incredibly quiet. We're not sure that would be the case during the rugby season (March to Oct.) as the units are adjacent to a rugby club and pitch. The motel is five minutes from mall shopping and groceries. The in-unit stove and sink and small fridge allow for some minimal cooking. The bathrooms were nice and big with a walk-in shower. This is not the place to go if you are Wifi and cable TV dependent. The management provided us with 500MB coupons to sign onto a private ISP. While the system worked, the site logged you off if you left a device unattended and it was difficult to log back on. It worked though, albeit at a slow pace maybe 4 MBPS at best. The TV was the size of a small computer monitor at best, maybe 19 inches. And it only had 3 channels. A movie channel and two sports channels. The location is close enough to the CBD to make for an easy drive. Although until Christchurch manages to repair the damage from the earthquakes there's really not much reason to go there except for the museum and the botanic garden. The units are very affordable for what you get. You have to buzz the management from the rugby center when you arrive. We didn't understand that at first and it was a little confusing. Very helpful management though. Highly recommended (at least during non-rugby times).

Room Tip: Units away from pitch perhaps best. #1 has a private courtyard

A great place to relax! I was on an intensive multiple country and continent trip. Exhausted, and with more to go, I stayed here and relaxed in my room and outside. I did almost nothing as I had to recharge and the motel was the perfect place. I may be a bit off on the date as I was traveling fast for 3 months. People are just glorious in this area.

Close to the rugby and the bar area on Saturday (and some other nights) was open and buzzing. Staff were helpful and friendly like we had known them for years. Great accomodation during house repairs.

Room Tip: Best rooms at the back away from the driveway or the 3 bedroom house.

We stayed here for 5 nights and enjoyed the inner courtyard with trees around the motel rooms. Nice to sit for relaxation and BBQ.
The location is very quiet. The motel units have all 2 bedrooms and are very spacious.
The small kitchenette was not too bad, but the fridge was not turned on before we arrived. Not good, since we came with some perishable food.
The laundry was not well maintained and clean. We could not use the washing machine because some washing was inside for 1 day in both machines. I guess a guest didn't care.
The price was very good for such a big unit. We certainly will come back.

Clean, spacious, basic, tidy motel units serviced daily - a towel, hand towel and face cloth per guest. Comfy beds. Kitchenette with all the basic necessities.
Lovely grounds, including a "common" grassed courtyard area with outdoor seating and BBQ for all motel guests to share - a real sun trap.

We had the use of the Lodge; a 3-bedroom house that sleeps 6 people twin/share. Includes small open-plan kitchen (with lots of storage) for self-catering, dining area, lounge, laundry with outdoor washing line, and a private spacious sunny outdoor grassy/garden area.

Large function venue and a playing field also on site.
Close to shopping areas and eateries, but more than 5mins walk.
Lynn (the host) was very helpful and available.

Can be difficult to find - but well worth it ... I would definitely recommend a stay.
