This is a small, family run complex. The owners are lovely - so friendly and helpful. The cottages are comfortable with a good lounge and large balcony. The bedrooms are small but perfectly formed! It is a short drive to the town centre and shopping/fuel. Lovely and quiet location!

Our hosts Jim & Sylvia welcomed us, our cottage was clean, roomy & well equipped with a large veranda, and only 5 min drive from Paihia. Would certainly recommend staying here for a peaceful relaxing holiday - but plenty to do an see in the Bay of Islands if you wish.

Our daughter found this place On-line when we were planning our trip out to see her in NZ. She and her boyfriend came with us when we went on a trip to the Bay of Islands, so needed two bedroom accommodation. The site is about 5km outside the town but very quiet and scenic.
The lady gave us a warm welcome and were booked in quickly. The chalets are spacious and very well equipped, with everything you would need for a self-catering holiday. There were good showers and the beds were comfortable. They have a nice balcony looking out over the surrounding area, which was very pleasant. My only criticism would be that the chalets were very warm on our arrival, though we were able to cool them a little after a while. There was also a little library (books & DVDs) free to use.
For those who are catering for themselves, aside from the shops in Paihia, in the road straight across from the access road there is a small parade of shops containing a Convenience store and a Fish and Chip shop/cafe. The shop seemed to have most things (but note to those partial to a drink, no alcohol!) A friendly South African (via Cornwall?) couple run the Fish & Chip shop, which also does Pizzas and other stuff, so a good selection. It also doubles as a bakery and the chap very kindly gave us a free loaf, as we were buying our supper just before they closed (at 8pm if I recall). Both the Fish and chips and the bread which did nicely in the morning for breakfast, were both very tasty.
It proved a convenient base for seeing the sights around the Islands. We took a boat tour out to the hole in the rock (the day before the hurricane was passing close), and aside from a slight swell was very enjoyable. An added bonus was seeing a group of dolphins who came to meet the boats. On departure the second day we visited the Waitangi Treaty Grounds which were only a short drive away and really interesting, only detracted from by the heavy rain that day.
In conclusion, I would say that it proved a good place to stay for tourists like us or would be even better, for people wanting a longer stay, and good value for money.

Room Tip: Unusually from what I could see, the chalets were equally well placed.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Sunseeker Cottages. Quiet, great views, nice large sunny deck. Cottage was fully equipped and was the grounds were very well maintained. Lovely setting and close to Paihia (by car). Only negative was that we had to take the car everywhere due to it's semi-remote location.

Myself, my husband and my 2.5 year old son stayed here for 3 weeks in between moving from Auckland to KeriKeri and found the cottages to be superbly maintained, well equipped, clean and quiet. Theres a little garden swing set which my son enjoyed and a selection of DVDs available for entertainment.
Everything you need is there or on site and Jill is an exceptional host.
Located 5 minutes drive from Paihia and 20 minutes from KeriKeri it is a lovely quiet little spot to enjoy a break.
There is a pizza takeaway down the road which is really yummy too!!
Loved it here and will always recommend it.
Thank you for a brilliant stay Jill.
