The experience at the Wateal Lodge could not have been better. Iris was a great host, the room was very comfortable and breakfast was superb. Very intimate setting, our 1st NZ getaway and weekend to remember. Napier has world class restaurants, stunning beaches, great trails and superb wine. I could not think of a better way to spend a weekend...or more. Thanks Iris, we shall come again for sure,

Room tip: Iris can help you with the rooms, all seemed excellent.

What a stunning B&B. From the outside it looks like a black barn; from the inside, a five-star hotel. You'll be totally surprised and blown away. Everything is simply stunning. Even breakfast was scrumptious. And to top it all, we had our laundry done for free. All in all, top drawer. Strongly recommended!

What a lovely review. It was great meeting you both. To add to the delight was the nostalgia of talking to someone from my old country. I imagine that you are reveling in the beauty of Rarotonga and looking forward to the marriage celebration.

We loved staying at Watea Lodge. Our room was very comfortable, and Iris has thought of everything that guests might enjoy, from the guest lounge to the lap pool. Breakfast was delicious on both mornings and we loved sharing stories with Iris.

Hi Susan and Alex
What great guests you were. I too enjoyed every minute of our fascinating conversations. Your energy is admirable - cycling after Alex won a gold in rowing at the Masters Games. I'm looking forward to my next trip to Sydney when I'll enjoy a coffee with you both.

In and out of Napier for the Dixie Chicks concert this was the perfect overnight spot. Close to Mission Estate. Very comfortable self contained room, enormous bed, tasty breakfast and charming hosts. We will visit again - for longer next time .

Good morning Gail
How lovely to find this review this morning. It was hectic for everyone with the concert which, from all accounts, was brilliant.
Thank you for your kind comments.

We stayed here for two nights during our cycling tour around Hawkes Bay. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable and our host was friendly and ken to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Plenty of local produce provided for the delicious breakfasts produced each morning. Thoroughly recommended for a luxurious break.

Room tip: Two rooms have a shared bathroom and one has it's own ensuite.

It's always pleasing when guests enjoy their stay. So glad Hawkes Bay and Watea Lodge lived up to expectations.
