Bavaria Bed & Breakfast Hotel
Reviewed 15 September 2016

We stayed in Bavaria Bed & Breakfast Hotel again this year in early Sept for 4 nights. All staff members were friendly. The weather was not nice during that time. It rained quite often and we were wet sometime when we were back to hotel. The staff members gave us hair dryer to dry our clothes.

Room Tip: Easy to every where.

I stayed on business and chose this B&B because of its location, which is very convenient to Mt Eden. Parking is excellent and it is an attractive building. The room was comfortable and attractive, but I would have liked a kettle in my room and was quite surprised to find no TV. There is a nice sitting room downstairs, which is available to guests, but I would have liked to relax in private and be able to make a late-night drink without having to go downstairs. However, that's really my fault - I hadn't read the descriptor well enough!
The bathroom was tiny, with no room for any toiletries. There was a very small shower, although there was no shortage of nice hot water.
Staff I met were friendly and welcoming, particularly the lovely lady who did breakfast. I'd recommend it for people who are aware of the lack of room facilities, but I probably won't stay again because of that.

Pleasant b and b ,good breakfast with some cooked food , very nice staff but don't expect more make sure you read facilities then don't complain you haven't got them as some previous reviews have. Tired decor ,needs a serious update ,just a few little extras would improve this establishment such as small television in room ,ironing board and iron in room ,hairdryer in room ,tea and coffee in room, all these available, TV and beverages in lounge and have to request iron and hairdryer from staff , a photocopy of local map rather than just one on wall ,can't take that with you unless you take photo on phone . If the owner improved these then it would increase star rating as you cant fault the present staff .
Can easily get a bus into town for 3 dollars ,takes 10-15 mins ,countdown supermarket just at end of road with some good Asian restaurant nearby , try tandoori majhal .
Go up the road and walk up mount eden ,great views .

I am glad I stayed here. It was close to CBD, warm bedroom and comfortable bed and furnishings. The staff were really friendly and helpful. It was freezing in Auckland that night and the place was a welcome haven. The costs were low and highly competitive with other accommodations.
I was unhappy with noisy late-night adjoining room occupants. The staff showed genuine concern and made suggestions about how they could stop the recurrence of what was obviously vey unusual.

I would make the Bavarian a must stay for myself when in Auckland.

We spent one night in Auckland before meeting our group tour and moving on. The reservation with hotels.com was as confirmed when we arrived. This clean vintage guest house, full of antiques was very restful and friendly. There is a parking area in front, (off street) so car is protected. We walked over to the main street to shop at a nearby grocery store and found many restaurants to choose from for dinner. The beds were comfy and the room ample size. Bathroom small but enough, and very clean. WiFi was good, but no TV. Another walk in the opposite direction took us up to Mount Eden and a fantastic view of Auckland and Devonport and further on. This made us late for breakfast, but the cheery staff was more than friendly. After coffee and a local eggs n beans skillet with plenty of toast and local jelly/honey/cheese we checked out. The staff even helped carry our suitcases out and loaded them in the car. (stairs - no lift)...
Would definitely stay again when returning to Auckland in future.

Room Tip: First rooms at entrance door are a bit noisy.
