As a graduate of the University of Western Australia (UWA) I am qualified to join the University Club but I could not justify the joining fees, which are equivalent to a week's wages for most people. While the Club is quite luxurious, the prices of drinks are reasonable. The Club is also popular for seminars and other events. The club seems to aim its membership towards businesspeople who can deduct the fees from their tax. Corporate memberships are available.

We are not members of the University Club but qualified to dine there before attending a performance on campus recently.

The Early Bird Dinner Menu worked very well, providing a main course and glass of good quality wine plus salad and bread for $35 a head. This is available from Wednesday to Saturday from 5pm to 7pm.

The full menu was tempting but time was against us.

My choice of salmon steak with a seafood risotto was excellent and others who had a pork dish were equally impressed. This was good value and a perfect choice before continuing to one of the theatres a little later.

Must find another show to attend so I can eat there again.

We are seriously considering cancelling our Club Membership as breakfasts at the Club these days are dull and uninspiring. We used to be regulars there but are now finding there are lots of better places nearby that offer a lot more attractive options. The buffet breakfast at the Club is proving to be is a lazy way for them to serve breakfast - especially when things like the scrambled eggs are made en masse at the start of breakfast and left there for the duration! They look and taste like they have been made for a school camp meal!

We went for lunch just before Christmas, which is always a busy time. However the tables are spaced widely apart and the room is designed to minimise noise. We didn't feel cramped or crowded at all, and were able to linger over our food without being hurried. The tables near the windows have good views, and the set menu for Christmas was good value. A more varied choice of desserts would have been nice.
