Despite other reviews service was good. Food came out in good time. The bruschetto was disappointing although a generous portion. Was over salted barely a taste of garlic and hardly any olive oil. The chopped tomotoes were almost tasteless and not that fresh. It's one of my favourite dishes and this serving came bottom of the list.

This place use to be great Italian but since it was sold the place has gone rapidly down hill. Went there on Anzac day to give it one last chance and the risotto with asparagus came out with brocolli, it was bland and flavorless. I asked for some tap water which they then charged us $8 for on the bill! The waiter was rude and when I gave them the voucher from the entertainment book they wouldn't accept it because it was Anzac day. When I got home I checked in the book and Anzac day is not one of the 5 holidays you can't use the voucher for AND they charged us 15% on top of everything due to the public holiday. Don't bother with this place, plenty of other better places around the area that are worth your time and money.

First up, the anti pasta was wonderful, if you are going to this place its a must have. The house wine is OK and would suit most people. If you love good wine BYO and pay corkage.

On the night we went they were short staffed and we were in a booked party of 40. So keeping that in mind, service was non existent. A number of people gave up waiting for a drink (over an hour) and went to the bottle shop next door to get supplies. It was quicker.

The kitchen staff had little idea of what to do, watch some Gorden Ramsay folks and get a grip!

Mains varied widely, home cooked would be a nice term. Presentation was plain at best. The chicken was nice, the beef terrible and the pasta not as good as I have at home. In fact the fast food pasta places do much better. If you are going to charge that much for a plain pasta at least make it yourselves. No idea what deserts are like as after the 2 1/2 hour wait for mains it was 10 pm so we gave up and left.

A friend and I were staying at the Regal Apartments just around the corner so ate at a few places in the area. You really cannot go past Antico Cafe for some decent food at very good prices.
This place is not 5 star and there is slightly better food at other places nearby but you will be paying twice as much for it.
It felt hot and stuffy inside so we chose to sit outside which was a bit of a mistake as there was quite a scene happening at the entrance of the IGA super market next door with two drunk racists attempting to gain entry to go and beat someone up who was seeking refuge inside. Eventually the police turned up and took them away.
We ordered the Bruschetta to start ($9.50) which while good it wont rock your world. Large serving though. Then we shared pasta dish called Torte Cremo ($19.50) and a Castellana pizza. ($19.90)
The pasta was very nice but the real winner was the pizza. Great toppings, large size plus there was a special on and we got two free beers as well!
We also had a Corona($8) and a glass of the house red which was a generous pour for $5.
We ended up taking a doggy bag home with us and it only cost $61.90! Great value!
Sure the service was a little hit and miss but for good food at great prices I did not care one bit! We will be back.

I can't understand why this place isn't more popular. It's not a five star restaurant, but it's open nearly all the time, the food is good (some of it is better than good) and they have lots of specials. They even turned the aircon on for us specially. The waiters could do with a lesson in personal hygiene (a clean shirt and deoderant every day, please). But they're friendly. Service can be a bit slow at times, even when they're not busy, and the water could be colder, but hey, it's cheap, in a good location, and is open when other places are closed.
