Everything was seamless and luxurious, the location is perfect especially for new visitors to Melbourne as you are right in the heart of it all...fine dining, fun and a short stroll to the CBD. We loved how easy it was to cross the river as there is a footbridge in front of the hotel.

We were welcomed by the staff in a manner you would expect, however we struck the trainee and he didn't know how to deal with a voucher. OK, somebody did so we checked in with her. Upgraded the room to suite which gave a lovely 22nd floor view of the city and out to the bay and You Yangs (pretty sure it did ?). The suite had 1.5 bathrooms, perfect for a couple, 2 TV's, 1 bed (too soft - take your own pillow) towels, kettle, mini bar and all the niceties. It was a great room, really nice and capacious. Nothing to complain about bar a rattle in the air con intake! Our upgrade allowed us to have a pre dinner drink on level 24 where we enjoyed the hospitality to the fullest. It's a great place for breakfast - see below.
BUT!!! The buffet (also included) OMG, what is this place? It was like Myer cafeteria meets Smorgy's! I had oysters (good) prawns (Tasteless) Dim Sum (Horrid) for entree. I regained my composure to try a main meal, and I should have looked around to clearly let me know what I should expect. It seemed the smorgasbord is a transition point between the 50km ring and the Crown gaming room. Enough said. I'm not a snob. OK I am a little. But the mains let me down. I tried seafood tagliatelle (way too salty and tasteless made by an uninterested pasta chef serving people like me and others) couldn't eat that. Went back for 2 Peking duck pancakes (great!) should have had 60 of these and finally tried some sort of Indian naan bread which was great - probably the best of all. Couldn't face desert simply due to the crowd. had a glass of wine / merlot (not bad) and a cup of tea then headed back to the room for an on demand movie $16.95 and contemplating hunger.

Room Tip: Get an upgrade if you can - it's worth it.

Thank you for offering your feedback following your recent stay at The Langham Melbourne. We are sorry that you initially interacted with a colleague who was unsure of procedures with gift vouchers; however we are pleased that another colleague was able to assist during your arrival experience. Reviewers regularly comment positively that the service received from our well trained personnel does set us apart. We are delighted that you appreciated the upgrade, found the suite spacious and comfortable and you enjoyed your time spent in the Club Lounge. Melba has developed a great reputation of being one of Melbourne’s best seafood buffet restaurants and it is one of the most desired dining options in Melbourne. Our Chefs also prepare in front of you, your choice of food from the diverse range including The Spice Indian Kitchen, Turbo Wok stir fries, Asian Dumpling Station, Italian pasta station, Sushi Bar, and the dessert selection. We apologise for the service issues during your dinner and you found the quality in some dishes lacking. I have passed on your comments to both the Executive Chef and Melba Manager so they may review and follow up. We hope to welcome you back again one day.

Still my favourite in the whole of Victoria, not just Melbourne. Blissful beds. Happy Staff, great places to sit and drink.... Enjoyed my birthday here.
Welcomed into the foyer by vases of my favourite flowers of waratah and red lillies. October skies banished by block out drapes to sleep. If you want a night to relax...it is Melbourne Langham. To return from a walk to find complimentary chocolate cake very nice touch. ... plan to stay in. Pool. Spa. Gym. Eat. Rest. Great breakfast at the Melba. What a georgous hotel.
Perfect. Can I just have one more moondance with you !

Beautiful rooms, warm friendly service and a great location = a fantastic hotel. The beds were soft and comfy with a turn down service. Delicious dinner at the restaurant and breakfast offerings are varied and more than sufficient.
Step outside and turn right you're heading to Federation Square and he hustle and bustle of the city. Turn left and you will find the lovely gardens and historic buildings to enjoy and admire. Straight ahead is the MCG tennis centre and sporting precinct and behind is Flinders Lane with cafes restaurants and bars

We are locals and have visited the Langham for a night for the past three years. Our very first visit was outstanding and we were looked after extremely well. The second visit was a step down and this visit will probably be our last. While the room was comfortable and the hotel is well maintained, it’s the little things that make the difference. A morning paper would have been appreciated and the coffee at breakfast was weak and lacking in taste. Why are the commercial toasters so dreadful! One has to put the bread through twice and sometimes it even gets stuck, resulting in burnt toast. The position is outstanding, being on the Yarra River and in close walking proximity to the city and Southbank.
