The garden was open until night. It was long walk inside and most shops had closed. I could see different roses, rare species of plants and pond with ducklings. I missed volcanic side, could not find it as it was very late evening and quite dark.

I love Botanic gardens in general. The one here in Melbourne is definitely worth to visit. It has a large extension and many diverse areas to visit.

Take a book with you and chill out in this beautiful park (access is also for free)

It is one of the fantastic places to visit in Melbourne. A cafe in the center of the garden has a beautiful view. I strongly recommend people to go there when rotas flower bloom in the pond.

As lovely as Melbourne is, sometimes you need to get away from the full-on lifestyle and there are few places better suited to relax you than the Botanic Gardens. A few minutes walk from the CBD and you are in a tranquil paradise. It is hard to believe (the distant traffic noise is an occasional reminder though) that the City is so close but let yourself go, find a quiet grassy knoll (no, not that one), then sit and contemplate nature at her finest.

We went there on are way to the shrine, a lovely place to chill and enjoy the surroundings , there was some live music in different locations around the gardens which was relaxing , there was an event going on in the night which you had to pay for otherwise it was all free
