I suggested The Olsen for a business staying in Melbourne for a few days. She raved about it and thought I was genius in suggesting it! She was made extremely welcome on check in - no request was too much trouble and because it was after 7pm room service dinner was suggested and organised for delivery with enough time for her to get into the room and freshen up. The room overlooked Commercial with lovely views to the city skyline. And it was nice to have a window that opened for fresh air. Noise levels were not too bad either. Comfy bed, nicely appointed bathroom, well stocked kitchenette and interesting artwork made for a pleasant stay. Front office and housekeeping staff were excellent. Highly recommend The Olsen.

The Olsen is smart boutique style hotel in a good location. The staff are young and savvy to customer service. The restaurant and bar area is excellent for either a quick cuppa and biscuit to a very satisfying meal. The art work adds a warmth to the environment that could otherwise be a little stark. It is a little noisy as the rooms are not overly sound proof. The balcony suite offers a large area to sit and relax either in lazy boys or around a table, but with Melbourne weather not necessarily an added bonus as it can be cold even in summer. The room was well appointed and comfortable.

The Olsen is located in an excellent position, with a supermarket across the road (good for families and if you forgot your deodorant!), retail therapy at close range and restaurants and cafes all nearby. If you fancy a long walk, you can walk into town via factory outlet shops on Bridge Road. The hotel is clean and relaxing.

I've stayed in The Olsen four times over the last few months, as my girlfriend is in Melbourne and lives near South Yarra. Each time I've visited, I've been given an even better room and every time I've stayed there the customer service has been excellent. A few weeks ago I stayed there just before flying out internationally and due to a mistiming error, asked for a last minute late check out, which they gave me, and even though I wasn't able to leave the room until 12.30, the staff were very cooperative and generous with their flexibility, allowing me the time I needed to pack up and leave.

We stayed 4 nights at the Olsen. There were 4 of us so booked 2 Deluxe suites. The rooms were stylish and spacious with the added advantage of a kitchenette and small dining area. The staff were very attentive and friendly. It was a nice home away from home. Close to train & tram. We would definitely stay here again.
