We had a terrific time during our stay at The Boat Shed. Every want was taken care of and the location is simply terrific. Views straight across the river of Hobart, lovely sunrises and the sunset over the water with Mt Wellington in the background. Our only wish is that we could have stayed longer.
The Boatshed is perfectly located on the water on Ralphs Bay. The hosts Judy and Alan are lovely. Their home is nearby on the property. The location is 20 min from the airport, and 35 min into Hobart.
The first thing you notice on arrival is the wonderful panoramic view of the bay , over to Hobart, the second is the silence.
The cabin is small and perfectly formed. Judy has anticipated everything you might need during your stay. Torch, washing maching, iron, ironing board ( if you get the urge to iron on your holiday), extra heater. Every kitchen utensil, saucepan, storage containers is there. The bed is very comfortable, the cabin warm. Enjoy sitting on the verandah having a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.
The nearest shop Hill Street Grocer, is at Lauderdale, about 10 min drive. This shop is excellent for general groceries, plus breads, cheeses, fruit, papers. There is also a bottle shop and petrol station.
You can walk along the waterside, enjoy the scenery. Great for photographers. Great exercise. The sunsets are amazing, well worth staying here just for them. Every evening another wonderful light show on the water.
The Boatshed is the perfect place to relax, to read, to paint ( like I did).
We could not fault The Boatshed. It is perfect in every way. Go on, stay here, you wont be disappointed.
Oh, did I mention Judys delicious banana bread and jam, waiting for you on your arrival
Everything has been thought of... from the comfy bed to the eggs and bacon ready for breakfast. Tranquil water views and a lovely deck to enjoy them from ensured we had our morning coffee out there each day. For couples wanting both luxury and privacy it's one of the best we've found. Judy and Alan were the perfect hosts, available if we wanted anything and invisible the rest of the time. We will definitely be back!
Everything about this B&B is absolutely amazing. From the moment you set your eyes on the inspiring view, walk into the inviting space, to the first bite the of delicious homemade banana bread left for you....It is bliss.
Everything you could possibly want has been catered for. Every inch is clean, tidy, considered, and decorated with love and creativity. The breakfast hamper is very comprehensive and easily catered for our stay. Very welcoming and knowledgeable hosts. The general area is beautiful and quiet. Many nature walks along the beach or in the forest. This is the perfect place to revive your soul!
Stayed here for 4 nights in Dec 2016. From the initial booking Judy was so efficient and helpful with everything from maps to where to shop on the way. The starter pack was a lovely touch and very welcome. The house is beautiful and Judy has thought of everything inside including magazines, books, games and a DVD library. The kitchen has everything you need and a washing machine too! It is such a lovely peaceful place. We sat in the mornings and evenings just watching the water and admiring the views. Wi-fi was excellent too (which was not the case in other places we stayed in Tasmania).
