Crystal Cafe is the casual cafe in the Desert cave Hotel and they did a good job in straight forward lunch style food at a reasonable price. Service was friendly and prompt and as you might expect. What surprised was the good quality of the food. The decor was functional.

We are staying in the hotel which is absolutely beautiful! The underground architecture is incredible! We had dinner in the restaurant and it was by far the most delicious food our whole trip so far!!

We had an underground room. It was so spacious and you do not feel enclosed. The bathroom was really large as well. Sparkling clean. The bed was so comfy as well.the staff are so friendly and welcoming.

We didn't stay at the hotel and only wanted a drink at the famous subterranean bar. It has an impressive entrance through an old opal mine. The bar itself hasn't changed since opening day 30 years ago. No music unless you pay for the juke box. Pokies were the most popular thing going. Poor wine list and outdated office furniture completes the bar aesthetic. No ambience, no style, no thank you.

The Underground bar is built into the hill and will remain as is for many years to come. We have an extensive wine list in the Umbertos Restaurant but regrettably the demand for a more varied list in the bar is small.

The rooms are comfortable and ensure a goods night sleep. They contain all amenities to ensure a enjoyable stay. The costs are reasonable The meals at the restaurant are well priced and very satisfying.
