Great location - the tables are either on the balcony or situated a little inside or else in the corridor which are still in the ‘open fresh air’ (but all are undercover). We were there early - just as the sun was going down. Being up high on the balcony, it was good to look down on the traffic below. As it got darker, the candles and lighting of the restaurant changed it into a romantic setting.

Staff were on the ball and attentive throughout the night - our glasses of water were never empty.

The oily Bruschetta wasn’t really to our liking - the main ingredient being cheese squirted out with oil upon biting into it. However the main meals were fabulous. We both ordered the Specials – a handmade fettuccine and a Scallopini – which we both thoroughly enjoyed. Prices were on par with other places and good value for money.

Would recommend based on our dining experience.

Tonight my wife and I made a booking at lunchtime for an 8:30 meal. When we got here we were greeted with a warm smile and friendly staff who sat us immediately, in a table of our choosing. We were left for no more than a minute for the waitress to retrieve menus and she was back with the same warm smile and service that greeted us upon arrival. Once we had decided on our drinks, as scotch neat and vodka and lime, and had placed the menus aside Jordan was back to collect our orders. We sat for 5 minutes and our drinks arrived and we decided a quick cigarette was in order and with what seemed like e.s.p. Jordan was there again so we could let her know we were just heading for a smoke and would return. When we arrived back at the table our starters were waiting beautifully prepared and set out. The entre was as fantastic add the service. We had barely finished the entre a and Jordan was there again to collect our plates and let us know our mains were coming. The time between entre and main was timed with the precision of either a military matching band or someone with many years of customer service. The main meals, one rare scotch filet and one chicken fillet with polenta and garlic mushrooms, was absolutely perfect. Having eaten at many high end establishments between us, we agreed that this meal so far was right up there with the best of them. The steak was cooked to absolute perfection, almost not needing my knife to cut it and the dressing was generous without being over powering on the steak. The chicken was tender, moist and delectable and the salsa dressing and basil side dressing was perfectly complimentary. Once again once we had finished Jordan was there with perfect timing to clear the table and returned for or dessert order. The tiramisu we shared was beautiful. There is no other way to describe it. Presentation, flavor and portion size was perfect. T the coffee liquor was a tasty compliment to a wonderful dessert. The price was quite reasonable for such service, magnificent food and a wonderful evening. This was the first meal my wife and I had shared as a newly wedded couple and we have viewed to return for our anniversary next year. I honestly could not fault the entire evening and would recommend them to anyone that asks. Thank you all for a wonderful and memorable evening.

Thank AJ M

This is the 3rd restaurant, that we visited in Port Douglas, the 1st was Sassi( excellent) the 2nd was Bucci ( really good ) then this !
Staff are young & seem keen, but, either untrained or the systems are non existent.we waited for everything, on occasions we could see our drinks sitting on the bar, sometimes for 10 minutes, we had to ask for them, before they were delivered, the food took forever & it was only OK. My pizza was very rubbery, my wife's veal was not even OK, it seemed all around us tables were complaining.
Then came the biggest surprise, for hardly any service & poor food our bill was right up there with the good restaurants. It's not a restaurant that I would consider ever going back to.

A disappointing read. It's never pleasing to read such comments but i do find your assumptions that
everyone around was complaining rather bizarre. Also to actually name 2 competing Italian restaurants as better an interesting plug to say the least. I have read several reviews on both those restaurants listing that are quite the opposite to what you imply. Certainly even your own review of pouring your own bottle of wine & slow service yet still 5 stars?? We are all entitled to our opinion & I'm sure both those restaurants will appreciate your continued custom but if you do tire of them be sure to give us another try as the majority of our customers would completely disagree with your comments, as do I. Ciao.

Food was quite good but not spectacular. We thought it was a bit pricey. Service was efficient and friendly.

Thanks for your review. We do offer good food & service here @ bel cibo & I do wonder what you are comparing us to. Unless you live under a rock you may also be aware of the continual rise in costs for general operating expenses, high increases wage costs/superannuation & increased food costs. All of which we are continually faced with each year.Thanks.

Our last night in Port Douglas on this trip and a fabulous way to finish . We have eaten here before and have always enjoyed the ambience and the great food . The Antipasta plate was shared and a terrific start followed by the mains of a Blue Steak and my partners Barramundi ,both cooked to perfection .We will be back again to
