Well..should of just gone to Coles and treated ourselves to the deli section. Every item on the antipasti platter was either from a jar or a can. Where's the passion? At least chargrill your own capsicum, or cure your own salmon. Not saying this was a awful experience, but chefs, where's your skills at!? Put down the can opener and pick up your knife! The restaurant is in a beautiful spot with a nice atmosphere and lovely staff and cocktails but diners come to experience things they can't make themselves.

I've eaten here with friends a few times previously; this was the first time with my partner, who can be a little critical about restaurant food and service. We took advantage of the lunchtime special - two courses plus wine for $29. This is excellent value. The two starters we enjoyed were the standout item - confit of duck and seared calamari. Both tasty and melt in your mouth. For mains we both chose the battered fish and chips with balsamic greens - the fish was not reef fish as you might expect, but something a little denser (not sure what is was). The end result was a good serving of OK fish and a small amount of batter - not the usual thin slice of fish covered in a thick batter (you know the dish - batter and essence of fish!). The service was efficient without being 'in your face', and the wine quite drinkable. So much so, I ordered another.

Visited here twice during a weeks stay in Port Douglas. Its nicely placed over some shops so I imagine when the weathers good it would be a good place to sit with a cocktail or coffee and watch the world go by. We really liked the food - the usual good Italian dishes you would expect as well as some nice variations (the Barramundi in particular was great). The cocktails are great too and we found the staff to be pleasant, helpful without checking on you every 5 seconds!

We thought we would try this restaurant because it was crowded every night so naturally we assumed it would be good.

I have to say though it was very average in taste and the service was terrible. We went during wet season where there isn't a lot of tourism, so perhaps the restaurant doesn't staff a lot of people, but our poor server had to manage so many tables and she was very flustered.

For the price, I would say give another restaurant a try before this one. Ask you hotel for recommendations before venturing out on your own.

The good is pretty decent. Nice and clean. When we visited, it was very quiet, so not sure if they have more staff during busy time. A good place to eat with family away from the pubs and drinking folks.
