Top position for night time stroll along the esplanade and visit to the night markets. We were promised a view of the mountains since we didn't have the front rooms, and if you dodged the other buildings, yes you could see some in the distance. Reception staff very efficient, helpful with where to go for dinner etc. Clean and comfy good value for money but no freezer in fridge so no ice for drinks. No toaster or microwave either. Very close to many many restaurants so not a huge deal.

The hotel provided a warm welcome in reception, a comfortable bed and a pleasant breakfast area. The view from our room was of the streetscape and buildings only.
Sadly, our sleep was markedly interrupted by appalling and shameful behaviour by a group of very noisy young men in an adjoining room (or rooms) in the early hours of the morning. It was concerning that the reception area appeared to be very slow to act in dealing with it. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again.

Cairns in the so called winter, June, is most attractive. It is warm but not hot and the Cairns Plaza Hotel provides a most comfortable place to spend a week or two. Its location with wonderful views over Muddies and the sea is a real attraction of this hotel. The CBD with many restaurants and shops is close, and is readily accessible by foot. The hotel itself is comfortable and clean, and the staff are very friendly.

Room Tip: We prefer the Ocean View suites

Arrived into a clean and pleasant room Nothing too fancy. Very good location. Check in receptionist was very friendly, as were people on desk throughout stay, except for checkout. Really couldn’t be bothered to even acknowledge my presence at the counter. Breakfast good, but waitress needed a little guidance though very polite and friendly. I would stay here again

It's not the fanciest place in Cairns, but it's very clean and the service is good. Located right on the esplanade, it's close to a lot of restaurants and about a 15 minute walk to the marina. The pool is nice and there's a continental breakfast for about $12. The wifi can be a bit spotty at times which was a little annoying, but overall we had a very pleasant stay! Used it as a base to visit the Daintree and the GBR for four nights.
