Found this restaurant on trip advisor and glad I did. Really lovely food, fresh and full of flavour. Waitress and waiters are lovely but perhaps a little slow in regards to asking if we would like a drink or to offer desert. If these things were improved would definitely be a five star from me.

Excellent Thai food with some sleep girly different variations to most Thai restaurants in Brisbane. The seating was fresh and casual and service was friendly. We had several of the Chef Specialities which we enjoyed a lot.

Very enjoyable and will be back.

Had a wonderful evening there. The setting is quite quaint, the staff friendly and efficient. The only negative thing we can say about the restaurant was that winelist was very limited. The food was devine. I had Tomyum (chicken)soup ($7.90) and our guests, the Satay chicken ($8.90) for starters and that was very nice. The soup was more like a consumme with big slices of chicken breast meat and with all the flavours you expect from Tomyum. The Satai chicken skewer was lovely with a tasty peanut sauce. For mains I had Green chicken curry and my wife and guests, Stirr fried cashew nut chicken(1) and beef (2). (All four dishes were $19.90ea). The green chicken curry was probably one of the best (if not the best) I ever tasted, with great authentic Thai green curry and an abundance of meat and flavour. Our guests confirmed that the cashew nut stir fry was delicious - ample cashew nuts and heaps of flavour. Large helpings too. Nobody left hungry.
We are absolute Thai addicts. As a result we try and eat Thai all over the world. We travel overseas 3-5 times every year and are currently in Brisbane, Australia. We searched all over Brisbane for a proper Thai restaurant to take our friends from Adelaide who are also Thai-addicts but couldnt find anything decent that was moderately priced. So happy to have discovered the Banana leaf with the help of Tripadvisor.
We' got another week in Brisbane and will certainly go there again. Tip: the place was full, inside, as well as outside so its advisable to book beforehand to avoid disappointment.

The restaurant is located a little outside the city in a side street. The interior is nicely set up with the walls showing posters from old Thai movies. Staff is very friendly and the food is very tasty. We ordered two dishes, one with basil sauce and one red curry. The main dish with basil sauce was very tasty, while the red curry was a little too spicy.
