Went for a day trip and thought it would be an open area with views of the lake (should have checked here).

It's run down and only suitable for those with boats / ski's / kayak ect.

Picnic area is poor to very poor and overrun with scrub. The walkways are overgrown and the footbridge is busted.

This could be so much more than it is. Lots of potential.

Thank Reece R

It's was a fun place to be. Great place for fish and day out near Darwin.
It's recommend for a family trip and a picnic place.

Lovely day out but for the mozzies. Basic facilities more focused on water sports than picnic area. Water lilies are beautiful though

Good to visit the dam and the surrounding natural bush, South of Darwin. Pipe runs all the way to Darwin. I have seen water sports here too. Not in the catchment area though. Speedboats and water skiing.

We went for a picnic but you can't actually see the full lake, only a few meters! We were expecting vast views over the lake to bee the water sport but you can only see a very very small portion! The area needs trimming back to allow the full view to be seen. With a limited lake view, it feels like you could have been in your local park, so I recommend you save your petrol as it's a long way for nothing much. We cold hear jet skis and boats having fun on the lake but could not see anything. This place has so much potential, and could be one of the best places to visit in the NT. With limited safe swimming and recreational areas in the NT, there should be a large grassed area with full views of the lake, and a coffee van there! Such a long way for nothing, and we won't be going back anytime soon.
