Just finished 4 days at the resort. The service was excellent, especially front of house staff and all staff across the hotel were professional and helpful at all times. Good value and helpful suggestions. Just a great place to use as a base for all the activities then relax by a great pool in the heat of the day.

The Tali Wiru dinner is a must - once in a lifetime experience

We will be going back and cannot recommend more highly.

Began our 5 night stay with check in which went super smoothly and to our surprise our room was ready when we arrived at 11.30am (bonus). We proceeded to our room (320) which was on the 3rd floor of the complex. We had 4 adults in our room (us and our 2 teenagers) and it was quite spacious with a lovely balcony overlooking the pool area. We paid for the buffet breakfast which didn't disappoint. Everything was fresh, great variety and the chef at the egg station always asked if we wanted our eggs made "with love, or without love" which never got old! Make sure you try the fruit smoothies in the shot glasses....great idea! We also had dinner at the Walpa bar twice and coffee once which also didn't disappoint. Probably one of the best burgers I've had. Reception staff were always helpful with booking tours and general answering of questions. Room cleaned daily which was great. Bed was super comfortable. The pool area has an extended lot of deck chairs on the grass in the shade and we never had trouble finding an area to sit. Pool was nice and clean and very cool water which was great for the hot weather we were experiencing. All in all this resort may be a little on the pricey side (but remember where you are...it's very remote) but we had a great stay and I really have nothing negative to say about it and would definitely stay again and recommend it to friends.

Room Tip: There are "rock rooms" with views of the rock if you want to pay a little more

From the moment we landed atthe Ayers Rock airport until our departure, our Sails in the Desert Hotel experience could not be faulted. Excellent customer service, both at Check in and in all the Hotel restaurants and bars. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment and cannot wait to return with our Children next time.

Room Tip: The Superior rooms include a balcony, with twin pool lounges overlooking the pool and was the best place to watch the desert sunrise :)

Our check- in was prompt. There were four ladies on reception. It must be noted that most people fly in so arrive at the hotel together on the airport bus.
We requested a ground floor room which we received.A well serviced room ,large in size. The breakfast was fantanstic, excellent service there too.We had a plumbing problem which was solved by GRANT,he even gave us his mobile if we had any concerns. What service! We were amazed that everything was available ,seeing our remote location.
We are two very well travelled mature ladies who thoroughly enjoyed this hotel.

Room Tip: There are so many options.....It is a very large hotel.

From the ease of the airport pickup, walking into the cool, glass foyer with a didgeridoo player filling the area with great vibes, the fresh 'apple & lemon myrtle' welcome drink, to the check-in staff explaining an upgrade option for our dinner (thank gawd for her! The Tali Wiru dinner is SECOND TO NONE! DO IT!), to our cool and clean room with comfy day beds to watch the clouds roll by, to the staff being so attentive when our friends forgot their room key, the pool was perfectly refreshing (the Pina Coladas by the pool even more so! LOL!) the food was great, service was smiling, the amenities were plenty and the decor I found very fitting and comfortable! Remember, you're in a DESERT. On your doorstep is red earth and all the things which accompany a hot, dry and isolated place -- so for this resort to be as clean and comfortable as it is truly impressed me and all our party! Each day, we arrived back to our room with our bed turned down, the cooling on, and fresh towels! We did have a few ants in the bathroom, which I believe were after my face cream! LOL! But room service came and quickly swept them up -- and hey -- let's get real here. You can't get much more remote in outback Australia, so given I had fresh linens, a stocked mini bar and air con -- I think we could handle a few ants! No need to be precious! But in saying that, Sails in The Desert was top-notch, better than we expected, and if you go there open to having an amazing time, you'll have it!! But if you go there looking for problems or negatives, you'll see them. So choose your battle wisely (I suggest the 'focus on a great time option'!) OH! And the massage at the spa was amazing (a bit expensive, but again... desert + massage therapist don't normally go hand in hand so a premium is expected). Overall, BRILLIANT. Highly recommend and will love to go back one day soon!

Room Tip: If you can get the room with the day beds - do it! Lovely flowers around your patio, umbrella, and the full night sky is amazing to gaze at!
