I visited recently with a group of artists. Lee and Graeme made us feel so welcome. The cabins were clean and tidy, our meals were fantastic (even going out of their way to organise vegan meals for me), and they were always checking that all was ok during our stay.

Stopped here fr a beer and a look around. The place is a bit rough and ready but a great place to stop for a cold beer on a hot day. Had a bit of a wander round and a saff member told us a bit of the history of the place. Typical back country place and great hospitality to match.

We went down the lovely road towards the Ross River Resort, not being sure what to expect and if it was worth the extra travelling. The title "resort" put us off, as we feared it would be something very commercialised with a large camping ground, entertainment and rowdiness. It was nothing of the sort!

We found a simple old farmstead that had been turned into a café/ restaurant, whilst retaining some of the original rooms in their natural state. The member of staff who we spoke to was so enthusiastic and gave us a tour of the property. He explained the history of the place and showed us what had happened there during fairly recent floods. He also offered us the cheapest refreshments we had in our trip to Australia- and we could have as many cups of tea/ coffee as we wanted!

Outside was a basic area for simple camping, with some cows and wild horses down the lane, around a dried up stream. So simple and lovely- but don't expect a "normal" resort!

A beautiful drive into this place with some amazing views. An interesting place with some fascinating history and artifacts. We stopped for lunch and wasn't disappointed, the hamburger was very filling washed down with a couple of beers.

After a stunning Sunday morning motor bike ride out through the Eastern Macs, we stopped at Ross RIver Resort for morning tea. Hadn't been out that way for about a year and I had forgotten just how beautiful the Eastern Macs are. At the end of the bitumen sits Ross River resort. The resort itself is charmingly rustic but clean and adequate, in an incredibly peaceful setting. I am pleased to say that current Management are friendly and accommodating. There are a number of hikes from the resort to explore the surrounds and if you have a 4WD, a little trip to N'Dala Gorge is worthwhile. Make sure you check out the bar inside. Great stop for a break or better yet, stay the night if you can - the locals reckon its alright!
