“Whilst in Alice”
Reviewed 21 August 2011

I visited Alice Springs for quite a few months and was plesantly suprised with the little town. For food I loved the restuarant 'Osars' -great for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Also, Hanumans Indian & Thai Restuarant is delicious.

For a true outback Austalia experience head to Bojangles for a drink, it just has to be done whilst in Alice. The Rock bar next door is quite trendy and often has live music. The beer garden at the casino is great when the weathers nice and it stays open till late.

Mount Gillan is a little mountain just a 10 minute drive out of Alice. It has a track all the way to the top, the climb is exhuasting but once up there the view is amazing!

“Are you deaf!”
Reviewed 22 June 2011

Called in and asked for attractions we could visit with our dog. I had to reinterate this 6 more times as I was presented with brochures for National Parks and indoor venues. Leave your dog at home if visiting Alice Springs.

“a necessary first stop in Central Australia”
Reviewed 31 May 2011

The Visitor Centre in Alice Springs is a good place to visit when you first arrive in Alice Springs. They cover a large area - with loads of information on the whole Central Australian region as well as Coober Pedy and the Top End, and offer booking services for tours and accommodation for anywhere from Adelaide to Darwin. Also able to book things for most places in Australia, unlike nearly every other Visitor Centre I've been into. They also have special unlimited kilometre rates for car-hire with Thrifty, Hertz, Budget, Europcar and the local Central Car Rentals.
Open every day, really helpful staff, good service. No toilet facilities available, but the council-run toilets are in the buildings behind them.
