“Tasty Thai”

Interesting menu, good food, attentive service, nice location.
I note they did have an allergies disclaimer on the menu but when asking our server about what menu items were cooked with allergy sensitive products she was not well informed.
Overall, however, a good meal experience.

“Typhoon - because that's how fast they get you in and out the door”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 November 2011

This place is in a great spot and the food wasn't too bad but the service is seriously frenetic and focuses on getting you in and out. It's understandable I suppose in a place with this sort of view and walk-in custom, but think ahead with your drinks and don't expect to be revisited once you've placed your first order (except with the bill). Even our very small (novelty conical-based) water glasses weren't refilled until we were getting up to leave. The tables are packed in like sardines and there are lots of staff running around frantically seating people, running orders, and clearing tables. I saw a staff member trip over more than once, they were travelling so fast between tables.

We ordered a shared entree and separate mains - but the three came out speedily and together, which made for a crowded table for two. The choo chee barra was rather mild but the glass noodle salad was yum, with a good amount of chilli (unfortunately, as I said, we weren't revisited to refresh our drinks which at this point would have been timely). We failed to identify any coriander in the chicken and coriander stirfry. Menu prices are nothing to write home about - probably justified by the view if you can get onto the balcony on a lovely evening, but not justified if you are squished indoors. For a similar price I've had much better Thai and service elsewhere, but if I'd had a table with a view it probably would have been remembered as a lovely evening - the moral of the story is book ahead to get a good table, then think ahead when you're in the door and order plenty of drinks straight up!
