We happened upon this restaurant for lunch, after visiting the Aquarium and Maritime Museum in Darling Harbour. We ordered the Salt & Pepper Tofu, the Vegetable Chow Mein, Rice, and hot tea. The chow mein was perfect - small, crispy noodles but becoming softer as they absorbed the flavorful sauce, topped with a selection of perfectly-cooked vegetables. This is definitely not run-of-the-mill chow mein! The rice comes in a silver tiffin-like bucket with a cover, placed in what we thought was a wine chiller stand next to the table. We quickly learned that you use the bucket handle to put the bucket on the table, and use the spoon inside to scoop the rice onto your plate. The Salt & Pepper Tofu was delicious; tangy, slightly salty, and big pieces of tofu soft inside but slightly crisp on the exterior, and some chilis in the dish as well (hot!). A pot of fragrant jasmine green tea arrives at the table soon after ordering. The service was excellent, and the food was even better. We're so glad we stumbled across Fortune Village!
