Description: Tucked down an alley and hidden underground, Palmer & Co. is a time warp to the era of prohibition with its bootleggers, sly-groggers and the like. The 1920s-style clandestine bar serves up an extensive menu of spirits and specially crafted cocktails using the finest seasonal ingredients.

This is one of those places you go just for the decor. It's impeccable but if you plan on getting pretty boozy here you'll be way out of pocket. Justin Hemmes seems to design his places as an experience rather than a value for money night out.
Palmer & Co feels like a 1920s speak easy in NYC.
Great for one drink before giving the same owner all your money at Mr Wong.

Went to Palmer and Co to help celebrate my daughter's birthday and had a really good time. Atmospheric setting ... down a narrow lane, down stairs and into the basement with incredible arched brick ceilings. Staff were great, particularly the female waiter who greeted us and kept checking in through the night. I found the guys tending bar to be polite and went about making their orders pretty quickly. There is a limited menu but all parties seemed to agree that the food was good. I had the bowl of mac and cheese and found it very tasty and something that hit the spot. A few thought the serves were small but I was ok with that. Great cocktails if you are out for a special night but the costs soon add up. The live music was enjoyable in what quickly became a buzzy venue. All in all, would happily return.

A colleague and I shared a meal here while on business in Sydney and it was a refreshing and unique experience. The setting is all 1920's style and the waiters and waitresses are dressed up in attire of that time. The venue itself is great. We shared a food platter which they set up for us to share which was simple, tasty food and value for money. The cocktails are also great. It was really busy when we were there so the service was slower; however still excellent and our two staff members were genuinely helpful and apologetic. We would definitely return!

I visited Palmer & Co on a Tuesday night and found it to be a very pleasant cocktail bar. I love the prohibition era theme. It's a small bar and located at the end of an alley way. Being the middle of the week, it wasn't packed but it was certainly full of people enjoying themselves. The wait staff were friendly and service was good. Do go here expecting a full meal. The food menu is more about snacks.

Let's start with the bartenders, if you work in a cocktail bar I expect you to know the classics but this seems too much to ask! It takes 20 minutes per drink because the bartenders spending way too much time mucking round trying to make it pretty and chatting to customers.... Won't be returning ever!
