Stayed overnight here for the NYE Celebration. As expected the prices where higher than normal. The only room available when we booked was a twin but the front desk agent offered to give us a double room when we checked-in which we were grateful for. The location was just in front of World Square which was really good. A short walk to Darling Quarter/Harbour as well as Chinatown but can be a bit of a walk going to the Opera House. The hotel is small, the room was also very basic and tiny, no view in our room. It does feel worn down but still okay for short stay. Standard room with amenities we needed with some areas need a bit of cleaning and minor repairs. Paid $20 for buffet breakfast. The food was standard as in any hotel. Because it is beside a pub and it was New Years we can hear the music playing in our room but nothing major to get too disturbed. One thing I liked is that the latest you can check-out is at 11:00am rather than the usual 10am.

Hi,

Happy New Year, thank you for taking the time to review the Hotel.

Our Hotel is in a great location, however we are next door to all the fantastic, hot bars in Sydney. I am sorry in they had the music louder on NYE than normal.

I am glad you enjoyed your stay, We hope to see you in 2013

Stayed here for business recently for one night. Bookrd on Wotif, as was central to what we needed, and not too expensive. At check in we wre told we were gettin a free upgrade, but to our almost displeasure we were given a disabled suite on the 2nd floor, (they didn't tell us when they gave us the upgrade, we only found out when we opened the door). True it had more room, but the bathroom was as old as the original hotel. It seems that when the other bathrooms get upgraded, the disabled bathrooms don't. Roomy, but very out dated. Being a plumber didn't help my outlook on things. Overall, a typical Ibis Hotel, but on the bright side, the breakfast was good, with lots of variety. Checkout no worries.

Hi,

Thank you for your review.

I am sorry you are offened by disable rooms. Most guest enjoy the extra room.
All rooms are upgraded during an upgrade, I am not sure why you would think a disable room would not be upgraded.

I hope you enjoyed our beautiful city and glad you enjoyed the Buffet Breakfast.

Happy New Year and we hope to see you again soon.

Stayed here for a week whilst on business. Pretty standard three star hotel reasonably close to the centre of Sydney (although a 30minute walk to Circular Quay). Nice and clean hotel with reasonable value & service. Not particularly extraordinary but nothing to complain about.
