A restaurant inside a hotel, not a normal location but nestled between a sports bar and a cocktail lounge- you can't go wrong. The open kitchen and high glass ceiling gives space to the modern classy design. The expertly cooked food was delicious and exceptionally presented. Staff were knowledgeable and professional yet friendly making the atmosphere welcoming and comfortable for a friends meal out. Starting with the spanner crab and the special of lobster fish and chips to share, perfect matches of flavours in both dishes. For main we shared the butchers cut which was cooked to perfection, tender and flavoursome with roast potatoes and topped with rocket provided a delicious dish. Continuing the reef theme we had the tooth fish, again cooked so the fish was flakey and tender with mouth watering flavours and garnish complimenting the dish. Finally we finished with the chocolate and espresso and the grilled pineapple desserts, the espresso being my favourite- not only did the dish look amazing like a castle but also the flavours provided the perfect sweet end to the meal- the grilled pineapple an amazing mix of sweet and savoury allowed for a pleasant surprise. The mix of sweet pineapple and nitrogen mixed coriander provided a cool inventive twist to the dessert. Finally the wine, great recommendations from staff, and we enjoyed every drop! Overall an amazing and fun experience with outstanding food. Perfect evening.
