Beautiful location especially, for visitors interested in exploring the Rainbow Reef. Certainly remote, but accessible from both Savusavu & Taveuni (taxi then boat). Comfortable, attractive bures, good food, well run resort.
What really distinguishes Sau Bay from other resorts in Fiji is the unobtrusive, highly personal service. There’s always someone available to help get a kayak in the water, watch over you're kids to make sure that they're safe in the water, take you to the best snorkeling or diving sites, or guide you if you explore on foot. We loved this place.
Expectations are everything in a review of a small island resort. If you come anticipating unlimited hot water, deluxe bathrooms, extensive dining choices etc you're setting yourself up for disappointed wherever you stay in the remote parts of Fiji. But if your looking for small, intimate, family friendly accommodation with warm, friendly Fijian hospitality, good food, great diving and snorkeling, you won't go far wrong with Sau Bay.
Tip: the Sau Bay and adjacent resorts are closer to the Rainbow Reef than resorts in Taveuni which means shorter boat rides. Taveuni itself is easily accessible from Sau Bay, so visiting the waterfalls and other attractions on the Garden Island is very practical.More
