I really liked this place. Fantastic quality of food nice and kind waitress and amazing wellness /jacuzzi,steam box,sauna/ BUT everything has been changed now.App three monts ago I got information Mr.Pavel Pilny - manager is not working here more.Waitress that have been lovely began be streesed and finally angry and really not kind to their customers.Servis was terrible like in some cheap pubs aituated often in the train stations.45 minutes waiting for drinks began to be standart.Yesterday /12.1.2015/ at 19:00 We visited wellness.Hotel receptionist and wellness receptionist were lovely but after that at 21:00 when We were leaving welness the hotel receptionist were already changed.Instead of lovely lady in the afternoon there was the rudest reception staff I have ever seen.Receptionist had directly at the reception big dog without any safety arrangement. She told me dog is here to protect her against customers and in the case she tells him the dog will attackt everybody she wants. She was talking to me with angry hateful smile after explainig all the complaints on her would serve no purpose. We desiced never go there again.Staff working here miss managers authority /ecpecially this lady/She does not feel necessity to be kind and basicly polite to their customers.I have never seen such arrogant extremely rude and hateful person at hotel reception/even with evil dog without any protection/ and I really travel a lot.She really needs to have training in customer service skills.

Veseli nad Luznici not much touched nor spoilt by tourism. Convenient point to stop between Prague and Vienna and for investigating Ceske Budejovice. Good rail connections. Basic hotel, cheaply built look, spacious with everything I needed. Good breakfast of 3 coffees, slice of heavy rye? bread on which I put a cold fried egg, slice of ham and sweet pepper. Stayed 4 nights 12 - 16 April 2012. Recommended.

Thank you for taking a time to post your review. We sure appreciate any feedback from our guests.
We have improved some things since your last visit and we serve a full continental breakfast buffet each morning. Currently, we're also building a completely new wellness & spa facility inside our building, which will be officially opened in spring 2014. You can also use our brand new luxury suite on 4th floor (please see the pictures on our website). We look forward to serving you even better next time you come visit us.

The Lucia is the only full-service hotel in this small town off the beaten track so don't expect luxury, but for a clean and comfortable, if a little cramped, over-night stay or two it will do the job just fine. A relic from the communist era, the hotel suffers from poor design with most rooms very small by modern standards, like, really tiny. There's plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space but very little room to move around in. Similarly in the bathroom, it was the smallest shower cubicle I've ever seen. Sparsely equipped, don't expect any more than an old-style telly with local channels only. That aside, it's clean, and everything is in good working order; the beds firm but comfortable. We stayed mid-January with the town knee-deep in snow so were grateful for the efficient heating.

The staff were friendly and helpful. A requested 2nd pillow arrived within minutes. A second helping of scambled eggs, no problem. There weren't many other guests staying so the breakfast buffet didn't look much but for the number of guests it was more than adequate with cereal, cold meats & cheeses, plenty of bread and rolls, and a choice of fried or scrambled eggs. We had the latter, freshly prepared, really nice.

We ate twice in the main restaurant and both times the food was good and nicely presented, with a slightly more imaginative menu than the usual goulash and pork. Service was quick and efficient.

Overall, this is an acceptable place to stay for a few nights if you want a proper hotel. Don't expect much in the way of luxuries, nor to be able to swing a cat in the bedroom, but there's a warm welcome and a comfy bed, with good food and good beer, all at reasonable prices.

Room tip: We found out afterwards that they do have some larger rooms so might be worth asking if you're taller than 5ft!
