Whether the title refers to l'Auberge des Troubadours or your host Dave I will let you decide. This is a great little auberge whether you are following Le Sentier des Cathares long distance path, just calling in for a meal (please book ahead) or as we did making it the destination on a two day circular walk just for the pleasure of staying here. The greeting at the end of a day's walk is friendly with excellent beer and cider (or ice-cream) to be had. The room is simple and very comfortable.
In the kitchen Jenny produces interesting traditional food that is exactly what one wants. Dinner is punctuated by Dave's impromptu performances on a variety of strange musical instruments - a pre-dinner beer was accompanied by the clarinet - as I said it is all charming and ever so slightly odd.
